Whenever Rockstar Games moves forward with the inevitable Red Dead Redemption 3should consider making Landon Ricketts a main playable character. original Red Dead Redemption played by John Marston while Red Dead Redemption 2 served as a prequel and featured Arthur Morgan. Rockstar Games have not yet officially announced a Red Dead Redemption 3but the success of the first two games means it's a virtual guarantee.

First Red Dead Redemption was critically acclaimed and took home numerous awards, p Red Dead Redemption 2 managed to outshine it commercially and critically. Red Dead Redemption 2 it continues to be the best-selling game and is considered by many to be one of the absolute best titles the industry has ever produced. Rockstar Games is currently busy with the development of the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6but one has to imagine that Red Dead Redemption 3 at least it was already discussed.

Red Dead Redemption 3 might be in a tough position when it comes to the protagonist, which is not something to be taken lightly.
Who should be the main character in Red Dead Redemption 3?
There are all sorts of fan theories about what Red Dead Redemption 3 may be o. Some have suggested that the game should be a sequel set after the events of the original GDRwhile others believe the game should be another prequel and focus on the early days of the Van der Linde Gang. Others still suggested the fan favorite RDR2 Sadie Adler's character should be the main character Red Dead Redemption 3. These are all great possibilities and I wouldn't mind any of them happening, but I also think Landon Ricketts is the main character. RDR3 should be seriously considered.
Maybe Red Dead Redemption 3 pulls out a Grand Theft Auto 6 and have both a male and female playable character. If so, maybe Adler and Ricketts could cross paths and be the dual protagonists RDR3.
I played the original Red Dead Redemption recently thanks to the new version of the game that came out on the PS5 and one character that stuck with me more than the others is Landon Ricketts. Ricketts is the legendary gunslinger that John Marston meets in Mexico and seems like the perfect character to follow in the prequel. While Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 set during the decline of the Wild West, the prequel game starring a young Landon Ricketts could represent the West in its glory days.
Depending on how long hypothetically Red Dead Redemption 3 follows Ricketts' story, it could be a game that spans several decades. It could start when he is a budding gunslinger and follow his life up to the point where he meets John Marston for the first time. Red Dead Redemption game. It could even show Ricketts meeting characters like Andreas Muller and The Stranger.
Red Dead Redemption 3 with Landon Ricketts would be a good opportunity to break from tradition
Both Red Dead Redemption games end with the protagonist dying and being replaced by someone else. IN Red Dead Redemption 2Arthur dies and John Marston becomes the new main playable character. IN Red Dead Redemption 1John Marston dies and is replaced by his son Jack. If Red Dead Redemption 3 if Landon Ricketts appeared and the story completely stuck to the past, it would mean that once the main character GDR he didn't have to die at the end of the story.
This could lead to an interesting departure from the norm Red Dead Redemption 3. Then again maybe a Red Dead Redemption 3 could have gone all the way back to the events of the first game, shown Ricketts and Marston's interactions from Ricketts' perspective, and then continued to follow the character after the events RDR1. We know that Ricketts eventually died peacefully in his sleep, so even then it wouldn't have led to the violent end that met Arthur and John. Unless, of course, what we were told about Landon Ricketts' death wasn't made up.
Ricketts is technically playable in the first Red Dead Redemptionbut only as part of the Myths and Mavericks multiplayer DLC.
The Blackwater Ledger, which contains Landon Ricketts' obituary, mentions that he was part of the 1899 Blackwater Massacre, but Ricketts is nowhere to be seen during the events of Red Dead Redemption 2. AND Red Dead Redemption 3 with Ricketts he could explain the discrepancy and show exactly what he was doing when it all went down.
The same obituary says that one of the things Ricketts is most famous for is killing The Butcher Brothers in 1896. We know very little about them, but the Butcher Brothers could potentially be the main antagonists of the Ricketts-led Red Dead Redemption 3.
Whether Red Dead Redemption 3 starring Landon Ricketts or anyone else remains to be seen, but there's no doubt he'd make an interesting choice. Provided Grand Theft Auto 6 meets its November 19th release date, which is potential Red Dead Redemption 3 will still be many years away, so fans shouldn't hold their breath that they'll learn something substantial soon.
