2025 keeps getting better Demon Slayer fans. First they were treated to a phenomenal movie that covered much of the Infinity Castle arc. They were blown away by the quality of the animation, for which they will forever be grateful to ufotable. So far, everything the studio has produced has been phenomenal.
However, even ufotable admits that Infinity Castle Part 1 was his best work to date. Given its quality, this is not surprising Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle became such a hit at the box office. After becoming the highest-grossing anime film of all time, Infinity Castle Part 1 has now been nominated for a prestigious award.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle could end up winning a Golden Globe
The nominations for Best Animated Feature at the Golden Globes were recently revealed, and unsurprisingly, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle made the list. In addition to Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, the following films were also nominated:

All the nominees were widely successful and therefore were selected. It's a huge deal for Demon Slayer, though, as it's the first Japanese anime film to be nominated for an award in a very long time. When it comes to the odds of winning, fans should try not to get their expectations too high. That being said, the other nominees were amazing as well, which makes voting even more difficult. However, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has the advantage as it probably has the largest fan base of the six.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle covers the return of Akaza, the Upper Moon Three who previously featured in the Mugen Train arc. In Infinity Castle, Akaza's tearful backstory was revealed, cementing him as one of the best characters in the series.
The Movie Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc Was Snubbed
While Demon Slayer fans celebrate the nomination, Chainsaw Man fans feel hard done by the committee. Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc was released in September 2025 and earned rave reviews from the audience. It actually achieved a higher rating on MyAnimeList.
Despite the acclaim, Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc was snubbed, and that's probably because it didn't earn as much as the other nominees. Demon Slayer has a much larger fan base, so obviously it would generate more revenue.
However, Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc was overall better than Infinity Castle. First, it had a complete story. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle seemed incomplete because he only edited a certain part.
Second, Chainsaw Man didn't have to rely solely on animation. He highlighted various themes using visual cues and character interactions. Finally, Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc resonated more with audiences because it dealt with real issues like betrayal, love, and friendship.
