iPhone Fold Design Leaked

New iPhone the leak claims to show off the design of Apple's upcoming foldable smartphone, following in the footsteps of Samsung and Google. Folding phones have become one of the hottest new device styles in the smartphone industry, with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Google Pixel Fold leading the way. The uniquely designed smartphones feature several different variants, with vertical folds that allow users to pack the phone into a smaller package and horizontal folds that create a pseudo-tablet. Now Apple is set to be the next big phone maker to jump on the foldable trend.

The introduction of a foldable iPhone has been one of the biggest rumors surrounding Apple in recent months. Leaks have strongly suggested that Apple is interested in bringing a foldable design to its iconic smartphone line, although the company has yet to officially confirm its plans. The foldable iPhone announcement was noticeably absent from Apple's big showcase in September, when Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air, along with several other upcoming products. A prominent leaker could now give fans an early look at Apple's foray into foldable phones.

iPhone Fold design leaked before official announcement

Popular tech YouTuber Jon Prosser has shared some early 3D renders for the upcoming iPhone Fold, which will reportedly launch next year. The iPhone Fold will reportedly have a similar layout to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold range of phones, folding horizontally to increase screen size. The iPhone Fold is said to boast a 5.5-inch display on the outside of the phone, while the foldable interior will expand the iPhone's screen size to 7.8 inches. The iPhone Fold is also said to have one big advantage over other similar foldable phones, with Apple claiming to have found a way to remove the crease from the internal screen. Prosser claims that the iPhone Fold is due out sometime in 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro.

In the video, Prosser goes into more detail about the specifications and features of the new foldable iPhone. The phone will reportedly feature a “hole punch” camera located at the top left of the foldable screen, similar to the internal cameras used by other foldable phones. Prosser also explains more details about how Apple intends to remove the notorious crease from its interior, which it says is aided by a combination of “a more evenly pressure-dispersing metal plate” and “liquid metal.”

The debut of the iPhone Fold is set to be one of Apple's biggest launches to date, as the company continues to innovate with its new devices. The aforementioned September show saw Apple break new ground with one of its latest phones, confirming that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will boast a staggering 2TB of storage. Apple's line of smartphone accessories is also a popular addition to the brand's range, with AirPods and the Apple Watch particularly popular among fans. Apple hasn't officially revealed its new foldable iPhone, and Jon Prosser's video didn't provide a firm release date either.

Apple is set to introduce a new low-cost revision of the MacBook in early 2026 along with a new version of the iPhone 17 with the launch of the iPhone 17e. Apple is also heavily rumored to be developing a new set of “smart glasses” to launch sometime in 2026, with iPhone connectivity similar to Ray-Ban's Meta AI glasses. Apple could be poised to break bold new ground for the iPhone lineup with the iPhone Fold reportedly debuting in 2026.
