Jujutsu Kaisen fans were absolutely delighted to hear that Gege Akutami is coming back with a brand new manga set in the same world with new characters. When Jujutsu Kaisen continuation, Jujutsu Kaisen modulewas announced, fans couldn't wait to see their favorite characters again. shortly after it is revealed that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo takes place about 68 years into the futurewhich means the world has changed drastically. With such a massive timeskip came the death of the main characters.
It was confirmed right from the start Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin were officially dead. This left fans wondering what happened to the other main characters. While questions remained over the fate of Yuki Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro's fate is almost certainly sealed already. It may come as a surprise to fans, but Megumi Fushiguro, who was originally chosen by Gege as the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen, is most likely deadwhereas there is no mention of him and the time that has passed.

There is no mention of Megumi in JJK Modulo
68 years after Shinjuku Showdown, most of the main cast Jujutsu Kaisen they are either dead or extremely old. The fact is, most of them would be over 80 and approaching 90, which means the chances of them being alive are very low. Megumi Fushiguro is no different. Megumi should be 80 years old now, making the chance of him dying very high.

If someone with a superior body like Maki Zenin died of old age, then Megumi Fushiguro has absolutely no chance of being alive. The fact that Yuji Itadori is operating alone is also one of the biggest reasons why Megumi is most likely already dead, and this is really heartbreaking for many fans of the series, especially knowing that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo would give them a chance to see Megumi at his peak.
Megumi was Gege's original main character
Of course, fans might wonder how exactly Megumi Fushiguro is the original main character of Jujutsu Kaisen. Few fans know that in his early version of Jujutsu Kaisen, shortly before serialization, Gege Akutami intended Megumi Fushiguro to be the main character. Megumi was sculpted as Ryomen Sukuna's vessel in the original version, and fans are well aware that it carried over into the main story in the Culling Game. Yuji Itadori, on the other hand, was supposed to be a supporting character with a somewhat a weak relationship with Ryomen Sukuna.

The nature of the relationship was never described, but it was probably by blood. Finally, Nobara never existed in the original version Jujutsu Kaisen. Instead, the third member of the group was none other than Tsumiki Jujutsu Kaisen original plans. In the end Gege made the changes he did, but none of that matters now. The fact is that Megumi Fushiguro is most definitely dead.
Yuji Itadori Still Lives in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
While Megumi Fushiguro probably died Jujutsu Kaisen modulethe fact remains that Yuji Itadori is still alive. This was recently confirmed in the manga, and it practically means that fans will be seeing more of him soon. Yuji aged a lot in the Module and it's probably his fault born of Kenjaku and related to Images of Deathwhich survived for over 150 years.
Unlike Yuji, the other characters don't have his powers, so they can't cheat death like him. Hopefully, when Yuji Itadori is reintroduced in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, fans will see him talk about Megumi Fushiguro and even Nobara Kugisaki.
It would be great on Gege's part to have Yuji reminisce about his friends from the past and probably also reveal to fans how they ended up dying over the years. Since Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a short serialization, this reveal is likely to come very soon and fans can't wait to see what the future holds for the new main characters.
