Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes recently kicked off its new arc, and along with the incredible battles already on the cards, fans also know that the franchise will also bring some interesting political conflict to readers. While politics in the world of Naruto isn't necessarily what fans care about, it's an absolutely massive part of the world, especially in Kishimoto's original series. The focus on politics isn't that heavy in Boruto, but the last few chapters have certainly turned the spotlight on the biggest problem facing Konoha at the moment, which is not having a true Hokage.
As fans know, Naruto Uzumaki was the Seventh Hokage of Konoha but was sealed away by Kawaki while the world thinks he is dead. Meantime, Shikamaru refused to officially take the position of Hokageand remains provisional. But now that Shikamaru is a potential traitor to the village, a new Hokage could be installed soonand he is who many would consider the perfect replacement for Naruto Uzumaki, Konohamaru Sarutobi. Although he is a little disappointed Borutoa few good performances will remind fans of that Konohamaru is Naruto's own protégé and the man who wants to be the next Hokage.
Konoha could get a new Hokage to succeed Naruto Uzumaki
In the previous Boruto chapter, fans clearly saw that Konohamaru Sarutobi was interrogated by the village Daimyo and Elders for working with Boruto Uzumaki, who they consider to be the biggest threat to the village. But the biggest suspect of all for them is Shikamaru Nara.

Given that Shikamaru never truly took the position of Hokage anyway Konoha doesn't have enough use for him and they could easily throw him in jail for working with Boruto. In other words, the village will need a new Hokage soon, and the person who is set to be Hokage right now is Konohamaru Sarutobi.
He already served as one of the strongest Jonin the village had. In addition Konohamaru personally appointed Kishimoto as the next Hokage long ago. While Sarada is going to eventually get a position, she is too young to lead the village right now. It has to be someone with a lot more experience and the only suitable Jonin right now is Konohamaru.
Konohamaru needs bigger moments of brilliance soon
Of course, making Konohamaru a Jonin has its own problems. At this point, he is not strong enough to be a respected Hokage village and so far is largely disappointing. That is, it is stronger than. At least Shikamaru. Besides, Konohamaru might get a power-up soon, and if so, that's all it takes to make him a worthy Hokage.

Sarada takes over from Konohamaru
Eventually, Sarada Uchiha will have to become Hokage in Boruto. For now though Sarada needs to growboth in terms of strength and experience.
