For the most part, Spider-Man has been a huge success on the big screen, making him an ideal candidate for some licensing LEGO sets. Tobey Maguire's first two films are popular because many fans grew up on them, with both the suit and music being iconic. The Andrew Garfield movies may have been flawed, but they had their strengths, such as Peter's jokes being on point and Gwen Stacy's story hitting hard. Then there are the hugely successful Tom Holland movies that have made great use of all the opportunities the MCU provides. With all of this in mind, it's a bit odd that LEGO chose it Spider-Man 3 for his next set, though it makes more sense the closer fans look.
Production Spider-Man 3 The appeal must have been a tall order even for the creative minds behind the LEGO Group, as this is by far the least popular Spider-Man movie ever released. The studio interference resulted in an overly busy movie with too much plot as Peter Parker had three villains to deal with. None of these plots were particularly satisfying, with only Sandman coming close because the New Goblin and Venom arcs were terribly rushed. Throw in Peter and MJ's relationship being more frustrating than ever, some hilariously weird dancing from a Symbiote-corrupted emo Peter Parker, and big bad Venom casting, and it's no wonder this movie was a disappointment. Yet these problems are smoothly avoided by the new LEGO set 76334 Epic Battle: Spider-Man Vs. Sandman, and considering the price tag, it's even a must.
According to brick fanatics, this Spider-Man 3 set to release on January 1, 2026.
As the name suggests, Sandman steals the show
The set focuses on a three-way battle that serves as the finale Spider-Man 3featuring decor straight from the movie. The black cloth left behind by Venom that connects the lights and beams is present, as well as a sand base with a scene caption. But the most amazing thing about the scene is the way it captures the villain that Peter Parker had to fight. As fans of the divisive film (or any other Spider-Man medium, really) will be aware, the Sandman can grow incredibly massive if he comes into contact with large piles of sand, making it much harder for the wall-crawler to control. That's exactly what happened at the end Spider-Man 3and by extension that is what the set represents.
The version of Sandman included in this set isn't just a minifigure, as it doubles as a massive prop that makes for quite a display piece. He has his own base and several angled pieces on top of him, reflecting his increased size, while his hands are covered by huge sand claws. Although there is technically a minifigure present, as his chest and head are the usual sizes for LEGO figures, all these accessories make him a large centerpiece instead of a small part of the set. Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man being represented via a traditional minifigure (the same one we've seen in previous sets based on Raimi's films) only makes the Sandman's scale more impressive, and building a large version of Flint Mark should be quite fun.
Venom is the secret weapon of this LEGO set
However, Venom is needed to properly capture this three-way clash. Fortunately, LEGO fans hoping to see him got their wish as he is also included in the set. What's particularly interesting about this minifigure is that Spider-Man's black suit has been sought after by LEGO collectors for ages, as there are only custom versions of Peter in his Symbiote suit. From Venom's bland Spider-Man 3 the design was essentially Spidey's black suit, only with a monstrous alien head instead of Peter's mask, this minifigure will be perfect for custom LEGO builders. Now they just need a black mask to trade in for Venom's, with potential trades from Far from home Stealth Suit Mask for Spider-Man Noir. However, for those just looking for Venom, this minifigure will do the job as his toothy mouth is on full display.
Also included are some tendrils that can be attached to the back of the Venom minifigure, a nice touch that Lethal Protector fans will no doubt appreciate.
What makes LEGO's Epic Battle: Spider-Man Vs. Sandman must
With three LEGO minifigures, one of which comes with extra bells and whistles and the other of which is highly sought after, this pack is already impressive. However, when builders see the price tag, they are likely to stop seeing the flaws Spider-Man 3 and will only see a great Spidey-themed package at a surprisingly low price. This brand new LEGO set is only $24.99 USD, and when you look at everything it includes, it's shocking that it sells for such a low price. The full list of features for this Spider-Man vs. Sandman (vs. Venom) is as follows:
-
201 pieces
-
3 minifigures
-
A special version of Sandman that can be built to be quite large
-
A belt attachment for Spider-Man and tendrils for Venom to create the illusion of combat
-
-
Scene with bent lampposts, scaffolding and webbing as decoration
-
Marked black display base
This pack will be retired on December 31, 2027, making it one of many rare LEGO sets.
While the 201-piece set will keep LEGO fans busy for just an hour, the friendly neighborhood hero battles these Spider-Man 3 villains doubling as a stunning display makes it more attractive. Not only will the entire build look great and be something worth parting with, but it's hard to deny the value as this particular set is larger and more detailed than other similarly priced sets. Sure, it may be an homage to a film that few Marvel fans celebrate, but it still looks phenomenal. And with some great perks for hardcore collectors, such as the hard-to-find transformed Sandman or the Venom design that's the right step up to the black suit minifigure, this impressive set is definitely worth pre-ordering. After years of waiting, the LEGO Group is finally wrapping up its tributes to the Raimi trilogy, and it certainly looks like the final movie set was worth the wait.
