Jujutsu Kaisen Animator Reveals Crucial Details About Season 3
Animator Jujutsu Kaisen confirmed that the anime has been in the works for some time.
While excitement is certainly at its peak, there is one thing that has come under scrutiny. This issue has to do with how MAPPA is handling the third season Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 is divided into two parts

Jujutsu Kaisen 3 will return in January 2026
When Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 was announced, everyone was so excited about the news that almost no one paid attention to one tiny detail that had to do with splitting the new installment into two parts. it is so. JJK Season 3 is split and only the first episode will air in January 2026. MAPPA has not shared any information regarding the second episode as they want fans to focus on the introductory course. Since the third season is split, it's safe to say that it won't cover the entire Culling Game arc. The first episode will likely end on a cliffhanger to keep fans interested. The rest of the arc will be covered in the second part of the anime.
JJK fans are not happy with season 3
The decision to split the third season of JJK is a little shocking, especially since the last season aired in 2023, almost 3 years ago. It's likely that MAPPA made the decision a long time ago, as the studio was busy with other projects. Recently, the studio released Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc and it was a huge success among fans. They were extremely satisfied with the quality of the animation and the pace. It even received a 9+ rating on MyAnimeList, placing it right behind Frieren: Beyond Journey's End for the top spot. In addition to Chainsaw Man, the studio also had four other projects to deal with, including Hell's Paradise Season 2, Dorohedoro Season 2, Zenshuu, and Ranma ½.
So it's quite obvious why the studio took so long to finish production of JJK Season 3, as well as why the new season was split. Despite the split, fans shouldn't be sad, as the decision will likely benefit the adaptation. If the studio were forced to finish all the episodes of season 3, there is a possibility of a reduction in quality, which would only outrage the viewers. The second part gives more time to study, so employees don't have to overwork themselves.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 breaks records
Fans may criticize MAPPA for its approach to Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, but there's no denying that it's going to be one of the best anime of 2026. MAPPA will do everything to make the animation quality amazing because they don't want to disappoint fans after making them wait for years. In addition to the animation, fans should also look forward to the debut of many characters in season 3, including ancient wizards.
The Culling game will be full of action
As Kenjaku pulls the strings for the Culling Game, he's bringing a lot of big names into the game. As an ancient wizard himself, Kenjaku knows everyone from the Heian era perfectly. So it's obvious he knows who to bring back. Some of the new characters in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 are as follows:
-
Naoya Zenin
-
Kinji Hakari
-
Yoroz
-
Hajime Kashimo
-
Fumihiko Takaba
-
Hana Kurusu
-
Hiromi Higuruma
Obviously, the new characters will be in the spotlight, but Gojo Satoru's absence will certainly be felt. After all, he is the most powerful wizard in the world. Because it was sealed away, the entire world of Jujutsu Kaisen will undergo a drastic change. Cursed ghosts can come out of hiding as wizards have been dealt a heavy blow. However, Itadori Yuji will be the first to feel Gojo Satoru's absence. The latter was the only person who stopped the superiors from killing Itadori Yuji. Now that he is no longer available, Yuji is exposed and will have to fend for himself.
