Leak Reveals All Recently Canceled Ubisoft Games

Besides Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, Ubisoft reportedly canceled several Assassin's Creed projects and several multiplayer games as part of its recent reorganization. That's according to a new leak that claims to reveal every single project that didn't survive Ubisoft's January restructuring.

Faced with a string of commercial missteps, inflated operating expenses and a cratering stock price, Ubisoft announced some difficult decisions at the end of January 2026. The French developer-publisher said it will overhaul its entire operating model by reorganizing into five genre-focused “Creative Houses” while downsizing its organization through studio closures and targeted layoffs. Company representatives said at the time that the group canceled six projects as part of these efforts. However, only a remake Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was mentioned by name.

Project Pathfinder was formerly known as Project Uwith its first mention coming from September 2022, when Ubisoft described it as a “session-based” co-op shooter. After several years of beta testing Project U it was reportedly rebooted in March 2024. Ubisoft is said to have expressed concerns about its long-term commitment (replayability), but senior executives believed there was room in the market for another co-op shooter and decided to bring the project back to the drawing board rather than shelve it. However, France's Ubisoft Annecy reportedly led the development of the original concept Project Pathfinder he is said to have changed his studies after the reboot. The fate of its second developer is unclear at this time.

Project Crest is among the more mysterious titles from the January 2026 wave of cancellations. Rumors from 2025 describe it as an extraction shooter with a WWII setting, but without revealing any other details. Early on, Ubisoft flirted with extraction-style PvPvE Division's Dark Zone, where players had to secure loot using helicopter mining, but the modern extraction shooter template is most often associated with Escape from Tarkov. Ubisoft has yet to release a single breakout hit in this space.
