When TT Games first introduced Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, the PC specs were surprisingly intense for a Lego game, requiring at least 32GB of RAM for an optimal experience. However, amid rising RAM prices, TT Games further optimized the game and lowered that requirement to a more reasonable 16GB.
“As part of our ongoing testing of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on PC, we have revised our recommended hardware specs from 32GB RAM to 16GB RAM. Please note that our PC specs are not final at this stage. We will continue to optimize and improve as we get closer to launch,” Steam's announcement reads.
16GB is still rich for a Lego game, considering the target audience (by comparison, The Skywalker Saga only required 8GB), but it's a step in the right direction. And as TT Games noted, the optimization isn't over, so we might see another drop in minimum specs.
Roughly 35 percent of PC gamers have a recommended graphics card or better
While the lower RAM requirement is a positive, there's still the RTX 3080 to worry about. According to the updated Steam page, the studio now recommends the following specs for a smooth experience:
-
64-bit processor
-
Windows 11
-
Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
-
16 GB of RAM
-
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, 10 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, 16 GB
-
50 GB free space
-
SSD (required)
The reason the RTX 3080 is a concern is that RAM isn't the only component whose price is skyrocketing; GPU costs are also expected to rise “significantly” this year.
Already, an RTX 3080 with 16GB of RAM will set you back roughly $1,200 to $1,700 or more when buying a pre-built PC, thanks in part to President Trump's tariffs, so the recommended specs are still intense for a Lego game.
Worse, according to the Steam Hardware & Software Survey (January 2026), the vast majority of players have 8GB of RAM, while only roughly 35 percent have the equivalent of an RTX 3080 or higher, locking out the majority of the PC gamerbase. Lego game.
Legacy of the Dark Knight comes out in just over three months on May 29th, so it remains to be seen how much more the team can optimize, but it's clear that there's still work to be done considering that Lego games are aimed at a young audience, not keen PC gamers.
