IN My Hero Academiathe way someone goes about fighting—their fighting style, so to speak—is largely determined by their idiosyncrasies. Those who can cause massive destruction with a single attack, such as All Might or All-For-One, can ignore everything and crush their enemies to pieces. On the other hand, those with quirky abilities—Eraser Head and Stain come to mind—must come up with a unique fighting style that can take full advantage of their special quirks.
Lemillion belongs to the latter camp. Like Eraser Head and Stain, he has a difficult quirk that would normally prevent him from becoming a hero. In fact, his father, who has the same quirk as him, rarely uses him in his daily life because he is difficult to control. That being said, Lemillion is not one to give up on his dream of becoming a hero so easily. So he trains hard and is finally able to develop his own unique way of fighting. Let's take this opportunity to take a deeper look at what makes Lemillion's fighting style so unique.

Before we get into the fighting style, let's take a moment to first talk about the building blocks of Lemillion's fighting style. Three main components contribute to his way of fighting. His eccentricity, his physical strength and his foresight. Let's start with his quirk, Permeation.
Phase over everything
As the name suggests, Permeation allows Lemillion to pass through anything. He can turn his body, or parts of his body, intangible at will and slip through everything. Even though it is intangible, no attacks can touch it and no defense can stop it. This quirk is especially useful for infiltration missions. After all, it didn't matter if the enemy was hiding underground or behind layers of thick sheets of iron walls, Lemillion could simply walk into their lair without breaking a sweat.
“Miria, make one wrong move with our joke and you can split in two. It's hard to control, and that's why dad stopped being a hero. But you're still going to do it?”
—Father of Miria Togata, Chapter 152
Much more annoying than you think
Reading the description above, Permeation seems like such a nifty thing, doesn't it? Well, that couldn't be further from the truth. This joke requires an absurd amount of concentration from its user. In order to perfectly time which part of his body should become intangible, Lemillion needs to have absolute control and awareness of every inch of his body.
Furthermore, while in fully incorporeal mode, everything passes through it, including light and oxygen. This means that when he dives underground, he cannot see and cannot breathe. By the way, to prevent it from slipping through his clothes, his hero costume is made of a special fiber that is developed based on the strands of his hair.
Physical strength
Permeability is not a joke that gives its users better physical abilities. He can help Lemillion move like no other, but that's pretty much it. So in order to take down the bad guys and become a true hero, Lemillion has to train his body the old fashioned way. That means adding more muscle and learning some martial arts.
Raw muscle power
Since any type of weapon and tools will just slide right through him, Lemillion's only weapon is his body. Or more precisely his kicks and punches. He realized this fact early on, so building muscle has always been a part of his daily training regimen. But that doesn't mean he suddenly grew up to be All Might. Lemillion's fighting style requires speed and agility, meaning that even though he is muscular, he is still relatively lean. This is why his build may not look too different from ordinary people. Nowadays, he can easily knock people to the ground with a single kick or punch.
Martial arts
All the muscles in the world won't mean anything if he doesn't know how to throw a punch properly. That's why, in addition to building muscle and controlling quirks, he also has martial arts training as part of his daily regimen. He doesn't have to be an expert in every martial art under the sun. Boxing for his punches and karate or taekwondo for his kicks should be sufficient. Maybe some grappling or Muay Thai to tie it all together. So yeah, Lemillion has mastered the basics of mixed martial arts and that's pretty much all he needs to defeat all the bad guys.

Lemillion is a disciple of Sir Nighteye, a man who has worked with All Might for years. Nighteye's eccentricity allows him to peer into his target's future, perfectly seeing what they would do in the next seconds, minutes, hours, and even years into the future. This makes it impossible for anyone to touch Nighteye in battle. Meanwhile, he can easily land a critical hit and knock his enemy to the ground. Lemillion doesn't have Nighteye's quirks, but the master made sure to instill that foresight into his pupil.
I accept it all
The first thing Lemillion will do in battle is to observe everything around him in order to take advantage of his surroundings. It is better if he has advance information about his enemy, as was the case during Shie Hassaikai's raid. But even though he knows nothing about them, Lemillion is trained to always analyze the quirks, movements, and personalities of his opponents in order to predict their next actions as accurately as possible. By taking it all, he exponentially increases his chance of winning the fight.
Predicting everything
When Lemillion uses his Permeation to sink into the ground, he will be repelled because two different masses cannot occupy the same place. Lemillion uses this phenomenon to propel himself in any direction he wants, allowing him to move faster than his opponents can react.
But no matter how fast he moves, if the enemy sees him coming, he will be able to prepare a counterattack or perform an evasive maneuver. That's when anticipating his opponents' moves comes into play. By anticipating where an enemy will be or what they will do next, Lemillion can catch opponents off guard and land a critical hit. He already has eccentricity, strength, and martial arts, but it's the foresight that elevates his fighting style to another level.
“I'm keeping a close eye on my enemy! And try to predict his next action! But you move a lot better than some two-bit Yakuza thug! You are strong, Chisaki! That means between the two of us, I'm stronger!!”
—Lemillion, Chapter 151
A million in battle
So now that we have all the pieces of the puzzle in place – namely quirks, brawn, martial arts and foresight – let's see how Lemillion uses all these tools in action. There's no better way to showcase his unique fighting style than when he fought against Kai Chisaki, better known as Overhaul, and his goons in the Shie Hassaikai arc.
Movement in front of the enemy
This fight takes place in a long corridor below the Shie Hassaikai HQ. Chisaki intends to escape from the secret passage with Eri and some of his subordinates. The moment Overhaul and his goons realize that Lemillion has caught up to them, they immediately try to attack him head on. But before they could move, Lemillion had already dove into the ground, heading towards Overhaul and appearing right behind the masked villain. All these maneuvers take place in fractions of a second. Before Overhaul can react, Lemillion has already landed a clean punch that knocks this Yakuza down.
Catapult on the ground
Lemillion's signature move is to dive into the ground and surrounding walls and then use a repulsive effect to catapult himself towards his chosen direction. Not only is it effective as a surprise attack, but it's also Lemillion's fastest move. In fact, one of his ultimate moves is called Phantom Menace. When Lemillion performs this move, he bounces off the surrounding walls, floor, and ceiling at high speed, then takes out multiple enemies at the same time. Lemillion uses Phantom Menace to knock down several Overhaul minions before they get a chance to react. This move works especially well indoors.
Multi-stage phasing
After persistent grueling and extensive training sessions, Lemillion finally gained complete control over his annoying quirk. He can now limit Permeation to only affect certain parts of his body and turn it on and off instantly. This multi-step phasing allows him to essentially ignore enemy defenses. The best example is Lemillion's final fight against Overhaul.
The destructive power of the overhaul emanates from his palms. So when he realizes that Lemillion is about to punch him, he instinctively opens his palm to stop the attack and destroy Lemillion's hand. Unfortunately for him, Lemillion simply passes through Overhaul's palm and then makes his fist tangible again while the rest of his arm remains intangible. As a result, his full force punch landed cleanly on Overhaul's face.

Meta Liberation Army could have become so much more if they decided to do things differently.
In short, when Lemillion infiltrates an enemy lair and has to fight multiple opponents, he will dive and push himself towards the enemy standing furthest away from him. Shoots upwards behind an enemy and knocks them down. He then dives again and bounces from the floor to nearby walls at high speed, taking out the remaining enemies.
If anyone tries to attack him or block his attacks, he uses his mulCrunchyroll.ti phasing to break through their defenses and deliver a clean punch or kick to their face. If he has to engage in a longer fight, he will analyze the opponent as he fights him to anticipate their actions and adjust his strategy accordingly. This is the essence of Lemillion's unique fighting style.
