Diablo 4 Exorcist is a demonic summoner

Warlock builds on the summoner archetype Diablo 4's Necromancer, but takes its gameplay in a completely different direction. Rather than using summons as allies, summoned demons Diablo 4's Warlock are used as sacrifice tools in battle. To this end, the Warlock can use one of four different soul shards to build upon. The Legion Shard focuses on repeatedly summoning demons to send into battle, including the Greater Demon Ae'gron. The Vanguard Shard allows the Warlock to transform into their demon form and ride into battle alongside the Greater Demon Abodian. The Mastermind Shard highlights attacking enemies from the shadows, with the Greater Demon Laalish lurking and attacking enemies from below. The Ritualist Shard allows the Warlock to access Hellfire skills and summon the Greater Demon Vollach to increase their maximum Overpower.

The Horadric die returns

Diablo 2The fan favorite Horadric Cube returns Diablo 4: Lord of Hatredand it appears to be a very useful function of quality of life. In Lord of Hatred, the Horadric Cube will allow players to modify aspects of their gear, such as adding or removing affixes, boosting stats, or turning it into a more powerful version. These traits should make it easier to tune the ideal gear without leaving gear progression to the randomness that comes with farm drops.

Charms and talismans offer bonuses

Another return Diablo 2 feature in Lord of Hatred is the bonus mechanic. Instead of collecting specific pieces of equipment to complete a set, bonuses are gained by placing the set's spells into the Talisman. Individual spells will offer their own benefits from being placed in the Talisman, but completing the set provides an even more desirable effect.

New endgame activities are coming to Lord of Hatred

War plans provide a new direction for the end game

One of the fights Diablo 4The current endgame determines which activities best suit the player's needs. Lord of Hatred's War Plans feature aims to help streamline the endgame process by giving players a structure of activities to follow, complete with various modifiers that can affect the rewards they receive for those activities. The goal of War Plans is to give Diablo 4's endgame more direction for players who aren't sure how to navigate all of the game's activities, while rewarding them for sticking to a plan.

Echo of Hate offers a new challenge

Echoing Hatred is a new, incredibly rare event that is caused by the Trace of Echoes rare item drop. Players who find this item can immerse themselves in Echoing Hatred and face an endless onslaught of enemy waves that represent a wide variety of potential enemies including Diablo 4 bosses. The longer the player survives these echoes, the greater the rewards.

Fishing allows Lord of Hatred players to find respite

While the world of Sanctuary doesn't feel like it has time to rest, Lord of Hatred offers players a brief respite from its demonic hordes with the addition of fishing. Blizzard didn't go too deep into what players can expect Diablo 4's fishing mechanic, but it sounds like it will be designed as a quirky minigame that players engage in while waiting for a friend to come online or for the next Helltide to appear.
