Loudest anime characters

A commonly overlooked trope of shonen anime is how loud some characters can be. Since shonen is a style of show aimed at a younger demographic, there is a tendency for the characters portrayed to be somewhat exaggerated.

This exaggeration can take many forms, but one of them is how loud the character is. It could just be the way they talk or when they really let out a huge scream. Some characters are positively iconic for how much they scream, and even for those who initially resented it, people usually grow on it and get used to it.

9 Kamina (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)

His whole personality screams out loud

For those who have never seen Gurren Lagan or even know any spoilers regarding the show, it is easy to assume that the main character of the series is the charismatic Kamina. A free spirit can be considered a loud personality rather than just a loud voice.

Kamina was involved in bringing protagonist Simon out of his shell and inspired the people of the underground village to rise up and fight to get to the surface. He was loud as he delivered some of his speeches and calls for his moves.

8 Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)

Typical loud hero

Shonen protagonists come in all shapes and sizes, but they can tend to be loud, especially when it comes to fighting. It could be showing their emotions in the moment or conveying their message. Naruto is a typical shonen protagonist in this regard. Naruto's dream is to become Hokage, and he pursues this ambition with single-minded determination.

In many of his battles, Naruto is loud, shouting his beliefs and sometimes his shouting can be used for comedic purposes. This is something Sakura does as well, as she can also be pretty loud.

Loud things come in small packages

Edward Elric is the main protagonist of the classic anime Full Metal Alchemist. There are three things that anyone who has watched the show will say about Edward: He's pretty cool, he's pretty small, and he's pretty loud.

Edward's height means he also has something of a short fuse and is always willing to bite people when they either bother him or comment on his height (or lack thereof). He can really go toe-to-toe with the best of them and no one wants to be on Edward's side.

But in Taiga, viewers get a tough guy with lungs for days and a violent streak that might not be so appreciated in today's society. Taiga is the perfect tsundere who would rather hit the guy she loves than admit her feelings. When he confesses, he does not disappoint and does so in a scream.

5 Squalo (Hitman Reborn)

Squalo is the second-in-command of the Vongol Assassination Squad and the right-hand man of leader Xanxus. He is one of the main antagonists of one of the most interesting arcs of Hitman Reborn.

Another thing he is known for is how loud he is. Squalo yells about everything. That said, he is a loyal character and is committed to Xanxus' goals, even if he is not treated with the fairness his loyalty deserves.

4 Natsu Dragneel (Fairy Tail)

He almost killed a guy just by yelling

Natsu from Fairy Tail is one of the loudest protagonists in the shonen landscape. Naturally boisterous, Natsu not only has the fighting skills, but the lungs to make it onto any loud list of characters.

Most memorable for Natsu, his scream is so powerful (and loud) that he defeats a villain with it. This occurred when he was fighting another dragon slayer, Erik. Erik's hearing is so sensitive that he can even hear a human heartbeat. He thought he had the upper hand against Natsu until the fiery dragon slayer roared so loudly that it knocked Erik unconscious.

3 Inosuke Hashibara (Demon Slayer)

An absolute beauty with all the bad manners

Demon Slayer's Inosuke is a surprising character: wild beyond belief, yet endowed with immense beauty, he's a character that takes some getting used to. In addition to Inosuke's hot temper, pride, and confrontational nature, he is also quite loud.

We regularly see him shouting his words, belying his beauty and making him a truly fascinating character. Inosuke is a fan favorite because, despite all his flaws, he is Tanjiro's loyal ally and a hero on the side of justice.

2 Bakugo Katsuki (My Hero Academia)

Dirty screamer

Bakugo is one of the best developed characters in shonen. Beginning as a bully who mercilessly picks on Midoriya, Bakugo will continue to grow as a character, eventually becoming one of the most reliable heroes.

While a lot has changed about Bakugo, one thing that hasn't lessened is his loudness. Bakugo is one of those characters who shouts everything they say, friendly or hostile. Bakugo has no inner voice and people either had to accept him for who he is or stay away.

1 Asta (Black Clover)

She had to be held for a while

Black Clover was infamously an anime with ambitions to compete with the likes of HxH, Naruto, Bleach et al. with a weekly episodic format and long arcs, which was more of an anomaly at a time when seasonal anime was becoming more and more things. .

Asta was a huge part of the initial popularity of Black Clover because of how loud he was. Asta was so loud that he completely turned some people off for the entire anime. But that took one of the first few episodes as his character softened a bit and people also got used to him and started to respect him for his other skills. It's still quite loud though.
