March 31 will be a sad day for WWE fans

WWE 2K24 servers are shutting down on March 31st, which means WWE fans are running out of time to get the full value out of the game. WWE 2K24 launched in 2024 and earned mostly positive reviews. After that, it was generally seen as another step in the right direction WWE 2K22 regained confidence in the franchise and 2K23 took things to the next level.

Like the vast majority of modern sports games, WWE 2K24 is full of online content. It has its fair share of divisive online content such as microtransactions, but it also allows players to download user-generated content to improve their WWE 2K24 experience. WWE 2K24 it also has its fair share of online multiplayer modes, so ripping them off would do a lot of damage to the game. Unfortunately, that is exactly what is happening on March 31.

WWE 2K25 shutdown date revealed

Just over six months after launch, WWE 2K25 publisher 2K Games has announced when the wrestling sim's servers will be shut down.

When does WWE 2K24 shut down?

The WWE 2K24 the servers will shut down on March 31st, meaning that all of the game's online content will be virtually unavailable from that point forward. That means that WWE 2K24 players will no longer be able to play online multiplayer matches or download anything from community creations. WWE 2K24Offline game modes will still be available, but it's still a shame that its online features are dying just two years after release. the sad thing is WWE 2K fans are probably used to this quick turnaround in shutting down games at this point.

Shutting down the WWE 2K server is nothing new

WWE 2K22 was released on March 11, 2022, and didn't even make it to the two-year mark before all of its online features were shut down. This game's servers were unfortunately shut down on January 3, 2024. Its successor, WWE 2K23suffered a similar fate, shutting down its servers a few months before its two-year anniversary. That means that WWE 2K24Online servers 's last a minimum little longer than 2K22 and 2K23but still nothing to write home about.

Online functions are thus quickly turned off WWE 2K games are likely due to issues such as expiring licenses and the desire to upgrade to newer games in the franchise. Really, after WWE 2K24 is closed on March 31, WWE 2K25Online servers will stay online, as will servers for WWE 2K26. WWE 2K25 however, online will remain live until March 31, 2027, giving fans just over a year to get what they want from these modes.

Server shutdown date for WWE 2K26 it has not yet been announced, but if the established pattern is followed, it will end on March 31, 2028. WWE 2K26 reviews made it the lowest rated WWE 2K game since then WWE 2K22although it still enjoys a mostly positive reception from critics. Regardless, it's always a problem when a game's online servers are down, and one has to wonder if WWE 2K fans sometimes find themselves debating whether or not to buy the games when they're practically guaranteed access to core features for only two years.

It's not just the main series WWE 2K games that shut down. This was also confirmed WWE 2K Battlegrounds shuts down on July 9. WWE 2K Battlegrounds is an arcade spin-off with over-the-top character models and fantastic action not found in the main series' more simulation-based games. WWE 2K Battlegrounds it was only launched in 2020, so its online shelf life is much longer than u WWE 2K games, but it is not clear why this is the case. In any case, WWE fans who want to play these games online are running out of time to do so.
