Pokemon Legends: ZAThe latest Mega Evolution revealed for the game's upcoming DLC could shake up the already deviating battle system from the series norm. Gen 7 Mythical Zeraora was the most recent item Pokemon Legends: ZA The Mega Dimension trailer, featuring mono's new Mega Evolution in action. While Mega Zeraora is notable as only the second Mythical Pokemon after Diancia to gain Mega Form, it also seems to buck the trend set by Legends: ZAbasic game.
The Mega Zeraora reveal confirms another leaked Mega Evolution DLC as confirmed, but comes with a caveat that wasn't included in the original leak.

According to the official Pokemon it may be difficult for players to obtain Mega Zeraor in the Mega Dimension DLC, suggesting that he may be hiding behind a special event or Rogue Mega Evolution challenge. While players are able to capture Zeraora, they may not be able to fully control her, as Mega Zeraora can supposedly act alone in battle.
Mega Zeraora can act independently in Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC
Mega Zeraor's description from the official site states that this mythic mon usually has an internal limiter that contains the energy stored in its body. However, due to Mega Evolution, this limiter was removed, allowing Mega Zeraor to release his stored energy during battle. The website further states that Mega Zeraora decides on its own when to release this energy, and that trainers will need to trust the creature or be in perfect sync with it to use this energy effectively.
It's possible that this information is just a flavor of text that fleshes out Mega Zeraor's lore and won't have any effect on gameplay. However, screenshots and gameplay footage show Mega Zeraora releasing this energy, so it could very well affect gameplay.
Players will not be able to control when Mega Zeraora unleashes its stored power
From this description of Mega Zeraora's power, it sounds like players will be able to master Mythical Pokémon's standard attacks just like any other mon in Pokemon Legends: ZA. The difference is likely that after a certain amount of time has passed after Mega Evolving, Zeraora will automatically launch a super powerful attack, regardless of player input. Until more is confirmed about this mechanic, players can only speculate, but the signs are that Mega Zeraora is an incredibly unique addition to Pokemon Legends: ZA.
How Mega Zeraora's unique power could turn Pokémon Legends: Battle ZA on its head
Regardless of how this special ability works, Mega Zeraora is said to have one feature that will make this burst of energy incredibly powerful. The official website notes that attacks used after building up energy are powerful enough to take down multiple nearby opponents at once. This detail suggests that Mega Zeraora will be able to use its stored energy to attack with AoE moves that hit targets in a wide area rather than focusing on damaging a single target.
While players cannot specifically control when this attack is triggered, it can still be a game-changer when facing multiple wild Pokemon at once. One of the most difficult situations Pokemon Legends: ZA is when players find themselves surrounded by several strong wild Pokemon like Alpha, so Mega Zeraora will likely be invaluable to players trying to avoid being overwhelmed in these scenarios. Breaking with the main Gen 1 tradition, Mega Dimension pushes the level cap past 100 and has a team member that can pack a particularly heavy punch when Mega Evolved is especially necessary.
