The issues surrounding Monster Hunter Wilds' performance issues have seemingly gotten to the head of its community, who instead of waiting on Capcom have resorted to trying to fix the issues themselves. In fact, the breakthrough seems to have happened only recently, after one player discovered Monster Hunter Wilds performance was seemingly tied to forced DLC control. After running the tests on several different computers, the result was the same. Running the mod that prevented Monster Hunter Wilds from controlling DLC, the game's frame rate went from 20-25 to over 80, a huge performance boost. Players have begun to theorize that Monster Hunter Wilds may repeatedly scan files for any owned DLC, with the scan seemingly requiring CPU bandwidth, directly leading to a performance drop. If the player already has them installed, checks are faster and less resource intensive, leading to better performance and inadvertently improving the experience for those spending money.
