As revealed long ago, Bakugo ended up winning the polland won by a wide margin. Meanwhile, the real protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, finished second and the difference in scores was quite large. Usually the main character is the most popular in any series but this is not the case with MHA as Deku lost all but the first popularity poll to none other than Bakugo. Even in the first poll, it should be noted that the number of voting fans was much lower and it took place before most of the characters had really established themselves, so it definitely has the least weight.
