Naruto characters who fought Sasuke and should have won

Sasuke Uchiha is a deuteragonist Narutoand that is why it is so often in the center of attention. Naturally, Kishimoto paid a lot of attention to Sasuke and gave him all kinds of abilities that allowed the Uchiha to take down many powerful fighters. However, in some battles, Sasuke's skills were not enough and he was left on the brink of defeat.

It was during these precarious situations that Kishimoto relied on another invaluable weapon—conspiracy—to help Sasuke overcome his adversaries. While Sasuke's victory was a benefit to him, fans can't help but think how different the story would have been if the Uchiha had lost.

This post contains spoilers for Naruto.

Deidara

Affiliation: Akatsuki

  • The match should have ended in at least a draw

Deidara was the youngest member of Akatsuki. The organization investigated him for his extreme handling of explosives. Deidara didn't want to join Akatsuki, but after losing to Itachi, he had no choice. In Akatsuki, Deidara improved his control over explosive clay and other natural transformations.

In Naruto Shippuden, Deidara crossed paths with Sasuke Uchiha and not long after, the two got into a bitter argument. Credit where credit is due, Sasuke used his Sharingan expertly and completely outmaneuvered Deidara. However, Deidara wasn't willing to go down that easily. Deidara created microscopic creatures from his clay that entered Sasuke's body. Normally this should be enough to defeat Deidara, but Sasuke was able to overcome them. As a last resort, Deidara decided to use C3, a move that could destroy almost everything within kilometers. Realistically, Sasuke should have died in the explosion, but Kishimoto saved him.

Danzo

Affiliation: Hidden Leaf Village

Danzo's stolen Sharingans in Naruto

  • Sasuke was supposed to be sealed away

Danzo declared himself Hokage after Tsunade was exhausted during the Six Paths of Pain attack. After the incident, Danzo traveled to the Land of Iron to join the other village leaders at the Kage Summit. He had no idea that Sasuke was on his tail and wanted to wipe him out.

A collage of Sasuke Uchiha's three smartest strategies: Hebi/Taka's foundation, his second cursed seal transformation, and his majestic attire: the Susanoo tecnique.

Naruto: 8 Smartest Strategies Used by Sasuke

Aside from being a powerful ninja, Sasuke has always been good at coming up with plans to defeat the enemy.

After several delays, Sasuke finally faced Danzo. The latter was overconfident because of Izanagi, believing that the power would save him from certain death. However, Sasuke outsmarted him and put him in a precarious position. Sensing that he was going to lose, Danzo used the Reverse Trigram Seal to lock Sasuke down. The Uchiha would have been caught in the attack if not for Obito's Kamui. Obito saved Sasuke, causing Danzo's plan to fail miserably. Even though Sasuke had the upper hand, it's safe to say that the match would have ended in a draw without outside interference.

Itachi Uchiha

Affiliation: Akatsuki

Itachi Uchiha is one of Naruto's most admired characters. Fans admired Itachi since his debut, but their admiration for him grew when his backstory was revealed. As the story progressed, it became increasingly apparent that Itachi and Sasuke were destined to fight each other.

When they finally started fighting, Itachi held back because he didn't want to kill his brother. However, Sasuke had no idea that Itachi was holding back from going all out. In the end, Sasuke was the last fighter standing, so according to the rules, he was the winner. His excitement didn't last long when Obito told him how Itachi had no intention of killing his younger brother from the beginning. So it's pretty obvious that Sasuke should never have won the fight.

Killer B

Affiliation: Hidden Cloud Village

  • Assassin B held back against Sasuke

Killer B was the adopted brother of Lightning A and a jinchuriki of the Eight-Tails. Since his youth, Killer B has trained extensively to improve his physical abilities and gain better control over his tailed beast. After forming a proper bond with the Eight-Tails, Killer B gained access to a staggering amount of chakra. Additionally, he could transform into the tailed beast himself and deal much more damage.

Naruto: The 29 Best Villains, Ranked

From rogue ninjas to terrorists and even aliens, the best villains in Naruto are in a league of their own.

Later in the story, Sasuke joins the Akatsuki and is tasked with bringing in Assassin B. Sasuke has always been overconfident, so he throws himself into battle and soon learns a harsh lesson. Killer B was on top and would have killed Sasuke if not for the other Taka members. It would have been much worse for Sasuke if Killer B didn't want to sneak out.

Kabuto Yakushi

Affiliation: Hidden Leaf

Kabuto villain ninja Naruto

  • Itachi saved Sasuke from humiliation

After Orochimaru's death, Kabuto was overwhelmed by his desire to be like his mentor. So he went through Orochimaru's notes to learn about the various techniques. He also traveled to Ryuchi Cave to learn Snake Sage Mode. After Kabuto learned how to use Snake Sage Mode, he surpassed Orochimaru and became one of the most dangerous individuals in the world. He even teamed up with Obito to start the Fourth Great Ninja War.

During the war, Itachi and Sasuke went to stop Kabuto as he was manipulating every ninja that was reanimated using Impure World Reincarnation. Surprisingly, the fight was one sided and both Uchiha brothers were at a loss. So Itachi was forced to use Izanami to stop Kabuto. If Itachi hadn't sacrificed himself, they both wouldn't have been able to win.
