In Japan, as far as Weekly Shonen Jump is concerned, it actually is 5th best seller with around 153 million. That's very impressive, but fans were shocked to see that the series recently overtook Naruto domestically.

Demon Slayer already defeated Naruto on the domestic market, but has not yet completely broken the international record. However, it is getting closer and closer.

Naruto has an estimated 250 million copies worldwidewhile Demon Slayer reportedly has around 220 million. There's a $30 million gap that's still within reach thanks to the monumental cinematic success that Demon Slayer is experiencing. By the end of 2020, it will be officially decided whether or not Demon Slayer is bigger than Naruto globally.
