Laura Bailey is one of those actors found in every main video game. Her versatility recorded her playing a variety of roles, including Mary Jane Watson in Marvel's Spider-Man, Vex'ahlia in the legend of Vox Machina, and even children's suitcases in Dragon Ball, England. “He's in everything”
Druckmann spoke with the creative director Santa Monica Studio Creative Director Cory Barlog at the DICE Summit and revealed that he did not want to throw Bailey like ABBY (thanks to PC Gamer). While he was already familiar with her work from Uncharted 4, he hesitated because she was already on so many things. During the live auditions, “he was sure he would be another actor”.
After studying Bailey's audition “frame on the frame” Druckmann, however, knew that the role of Abby had to go to Bailey. He said the bankruptcy tape showed a vulnerability that none of the other actors could capture. It was the moment that he also convinced him of the rest of his studies to throw it. She continued to win at the role of Abbby at gaming prices and prices of BAFTA.
This is not the first time that the actor's reputation has worked against them. Troy Baker revealed that Todd Howard initially “overturned his eyes” when the name of the actor for Indiana Jones and a large circle was raised. However, the director chose Baker's sample during the blind audition phase. Later he told Baker that “doing hell of work”.
Speaking of Abby, Druckmann revealed that the reason Kaitlyn Dever did not contain a role in the adaptation of HBO Live Action was because “we appreciate the performance of anything else”.
