It remains to be seen if 2026 will live up to such cute titles, but completely new Steam the title announced today could come in for its crown. Dig Dig Die is an interesting co-op horror game for 1-6 players where pirates rob graves.
Playable solo or with 5 friends (6 players total) on Steam, Dig Dig Die sees all its players step into the skin of stylized bean-like pirates not unlike character models REPO. Players will have to work together to protect themselves and collect loot from coffins and crypts, not unlike typical ghost hunting in Phasmophobia. But more than anything, the connection is hard to deny Sea of Thieves when the cursed flying ship of the players looks so much like the ships of this game.
Once players arrive at the graveyard, they are tasked with finding different types of loot through the crypts and coffins, thanks to various equippable items such as shovels, crowbars, and weapons. These lootable locations include valuables, power-ups such as speed boosts and the ability to super jump, extensive traps, or a lurking monster ready to attack the player. However, every graveyard is haunted by all kinds of supernatural beings. Not only can monsters hear every sound the player makes, but even UFOs can attack and abduct players. At the end of the run, players return to their pirate ship, can play various gambling games in the hold, and get game boosters from vending machines.
