New and upcoming Xbox Series games for 2026

Xbox 2026 video game calendar is starting to take shape and it should be a pretty great year for the console. The Microsoft brand has taken quite a bit of criticism in 2025, but the Xbox Series X/S has never stopped receiving fantastic games, even if none of them are exclusive to the system. The year 2026 will not be an exception, each month will bring dozens of new releases across the spectrum of genres.

Since keeping up with everything can be tiring, let's simplify the process and go through the big upcoming Xbox games that should define 2026. Let's hope it's a year to remember for all the right reasons.

Please note that the emphasis is on Game release dates for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in North America. Extensions will also be listed. That said, this build isn't exhaustive as it focuses on the major games.

January starts 2026 off pretty decently, although releases aren't tracked until the second half of the month. The biggest new game coming to Xbox Series X is 2XKOa free-to-play Riot fighter. Tag and team combat is the main focus lol a developer knows a thing or two about creating a live service project, which can be downright life-threatening.

If you're primarily interested in single-player games, the January 2026 Xbox Series lineup has a few things for you. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is finally coming to a Microsoft console, years after it was available on PS5 and PC. Code vein II should be a decent Soulslike and could be great if it improved on the basics of its predecessor.

On paper, February 2026 is almost frustratingly packed with games. How can we keep up with all the major releases? Xbox Series users won't have to wait long to get things going Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined starts on the fifth of the month. About a week later, Romeo is a dead man hopefully it will arrive to satisfy people's desire for hack and slash goodness and will be quickly followed Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, Reanimateand High on Life 2. All of these games look fantastic.

The second half of the month has Resident Evil Requiemwhich is (obviously) the biggest new Xbox game of February 2026. It's been years since the last all-new chapter in the Capcom franchise, and Requiem can't come soon enough.

March 2026 upcoming Xbox series games

Fatal Frame, Monster Hunter Stories, Crimson Desert and more

Continuing the momentum of its predecessor, March 2026 has all the Xbox games. You can get Fatal picture 2 if you still crave more nightmares though you can also pick up John Carpenter's Toxic Squad if you want to shoot hordes of zombies. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection should be a rock solid collection of JRPG creatures and Crimson desert could be the most ambitious title of the month. Finally, Mouse: PI For Hire looks incredible.

Zombie Toxic Commando by John Carpenter

The biggest upcoming zombie games

New zombie games are always on the horizon and 2026 will be no exception as several major titles have already been announced.

April 2026 upcoming Xbox series games

Pragmata, Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, and more

  • April 23rd: Kingdom's Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster
  • April 24th: Pragmatics
  • April 28: Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred
  • April 30: Invincible VS

Currently, April 2026 doesn't have many confirmed games, but it already has a few juggernauts. Pragmatics it's looking good and poised to be one of Capcom's weirdest projects, and that's certainly a compliment. The unorthodox combat should be a blast because Capcom knows what it's doing. Invincible VS should be a damn superhero fighting game Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is another RPG expansion.
