Latest update for Fate 2 has arrived, and Bungie has focused on fixing the many issues that still plague the game, including the very odd issue with The Dawning's cookie oven. That cannot be denied Fate 2once a titan in live services, it has entered a very special phase that has left a community that is concerned not only with the short-term future, but also with the question of the long-term future. Bungie has remained silent on the matter, though if recent rumors are true, the studio's hand may be forced sooner rather than later.
According to the roadmap presented last year Fate 2 was set to release its next big update called Shadow and Order in early March. However, that plan now seems to be scrapped as rumors from industry insiders like Paul Tassi have suggested Fate 2: Shadow and Order experiences significant lag for a currently undetermined amount of time. Bungie has yet to officially confirm the news, but with the expected March 3rd release fast approaching, the studio will have to say something soon. For many people, the main reason for the delay is to secure it Marathon it gets the most attention as it comes out just 2 days after that on March 5th.
Marathon update fixes Bizarre Destiny 2 pre-order bug
Bungie has confirmed a new backend update for Marathon that addresses a very bizarre pre-order bug involving the studio's next game, Destiny 2.
Unfortunately for Fate 2 fans, it seems all hands may be on deck to support them Marathon because there has been very little official news for the game in 2026 since the turn of the new year. For now, Bungie continues to release new updates for Fate 2including the latest one, which continues to commit to fixing various bugs that still affect the game. The patch notes for this update even pointed out one particular issue where Eva's Dawning Oven, an important item from The Dawning limited-time event, was still stuck in some players' inventories. Considering the event has been closed for several weeks now, it's very strange that the item was able to avoid removal and remain stuck in the inventory.
In addition, the update fixes a number of other bugs, including some related ones Fate 2's Renegades Lawless Frontier activity. On Mars, during sabotage missions, enemy attackers could sometimes appear behind doors, resulting in them getting completely stuck and preventing the progress of the encounter. Another mistake was caused by the legendary Sidearm Compact Defender Fate 2 to see how its damage is reduced after the player equips the weapon with the Overclocked Heatsink mod.
Naturally, this update is unlikely to do anything to assuage players and their various concerns Fate 2. As a player continue to wait for some big news about the future Fate 2many have begun to wonder why the popular Iron Banner PvP mode has been missing for so long. Bungie usually runs this limited-time event a few times per season, but for whatever reason, it's been gone for a lot longer than usual. Instead, Gun Week has already appeared three times. Additionally, with Shadow and Order possibly moving to May, players are wondering what that means for the future roadmap, which was supposed to look similar to Bungie's last year. Many now assume that the potential July expansion will now move further into the fall season as well, putting it head to head with some big AAA titles.
Even if rumors suggest so Fate 3 may be in the early stages of development at Bungie, there is a real fear that Bungie is winding down Fate 2. Bungie's priority at the moment is clearly Marathon, a game that has seemingly progressed through various controversies and underwhelming alpha tests over the last year, as recent promotional materials have been much more positively received. As Marathon seemingly gaining momentum, the future Fate 2 remains a major point of community discussion.
