Nintendo Switch Online adds 2 more N64 games this month

Nintendo Switch online Subscribers will soon have two more N64 games, Nintendo has announced Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Trouble with tonic will arrive in service in mid-December. Both upcoming Nintendo Switch Online titles are 3D platformers developed by Ubisoft and will be exclusively available to NSO subscribers with the Expansion Pack upgrade.

From the NES to the GameCube, Nintendo regularly provides its online subscribers with some new games to play through one of its Nintendo Classics apps. Nintendo console users have a new system update to download as the Switch and Switch 2 receive some operating system changes.

In the game, Rayman is tasked with repelling Admiral Razorbeard's pirate invasion of the Glade of Dreams and rescuing the Globox after it is captured by Razorbeard's crew.

Trouble with tonic originally launched on the N64 in August 1999, two months earlier Rayman 2debut. Trouble with tonic is a 3D platformer that allows players to control a purple alien named Ed who accidentally causes the Earth to mutate after he spits out an unidentified liquid, which subsequently falls out of a trapdoor aboard a spaceship he was cleaning. After a mysterious liquid contaminates the planet's water, the game's main antagonist, Grogh, begins his reign of conquest after drinking some of the contaminated water and gaining superpowers as a result. Like other N64 games available on Switch Online, Switch 2 users can take advantage of features like rewind and CRT filters when playing through Rayman 2 and Trouble with tonic first.

The end of the busy autumn season for Nintendo Classics

Coming soon Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Trouble with tonic will mark the likely end of a busy fall season for Nintendo Switch Online members.
