Considered by many to be one of Nintendo's most underrated platformers of all time, World of Wario is finally coming back after Nintendo shadow dropped the unsung 3D Wario game on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The Nintendo Switch Online library continues to grow with a number of popular retro hits and the announcement that World of Wario will now finally be playable after more than two decades since its original release was immediately met with massive celebrations by longtime Nintendo fans.
Nintendo announced just a few hours earlier that two more N64 games are coming to Nintendo Switch Online in December, and these two titles are also classic platformers. Both Rayman 2: The Great Escape and Trouble with tonic arrives at NSO on December 17th, but platformer fans can jump right into the 3D adventure World of Wario.
Nintendo Switch Online Shadowdrops four classic titles from Game Boy and NES
Nintendo is surprising Switch Online subscribers with a drop of the shadow of a total of four titles evenly split between the catalogs of classic Game Boy and NES games.
Nintendo shadow drop announcement for World of Wario on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack was a pleasant surprise, as many consider the title, which just so happens to be the only fully 3D Wario game, to be a forgotten gem in Nintendo's massive lineup. Super Mario Bros. games. World of Wario sees players take on the role of a longtime villain as he fights to reclaim his treasure that was stolen by an evil sentient gem. Along the way, Wario can collect a number of collectibles and defeat various enemies while overcoming 3D platforming puzzles through linear levels. Wario brings an impressive array of moves to the table, able to throw punches, grapples, spin or throw enemies, and even hit his foes with a WWE-style piledriver for a hilariously satisfying attack.
While critics and audiences praised World of Wario for its addictive gameplay, many felt the title was too short, too repetitive after the first few levels, and fell short of its original retail price. To the delight of those who have enjoyed the title and those who have never had the chance to try it out, players can now experience an often underappreciated journey World of Wario via NSO Subscription + Expansion Pack, without additional purchase of the short but sweet game.
