Nintendo Switch Online subscribers are eligible to download Pokémon Pokopia for free until March 18

There's a new wave of Nintendo Switch Online subscribers Pokemon Pokopia icons that they can download for free, but they will have to act fast because they will be replaced on March 18. At that time new icons were available for Pokemon Pokopia it will rotate, but the rotation itself will end on April 1st.

The critic reviews for Pokemon Pokopia are starting to pour in, with enough praise to make the game the highest-rated title in the franchise.

As such, many fans want to celebrate the new game as much as possible. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can do this by claiming Popopia icons celebrating the game. The first wave launched on March 4th at 5:00pm PT/8:00pm ET and the latest set launched on March 11th at the same time. However, these icons can only be captured for a week before the next wave replaces them. The four planned waves last until April 1st, and the current icons are for Professor Tangrowth and Peakychu – a pale white weak variant of Pikachu with a tragic lore. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will want to act fast to get these icons before they appear and replace them on March 18th.

How to get these Pokopia icons on Nintendo Switch Online

Players do not need to own Pokopia to get these icons.
They need an active NSO subscription, not unlike PS Plus or Game Pass.

Each icon requires 10 platinum points to earn, and most players will have that much in their pica during normal use. If not, they are easy to get.

Peakychu and Professor Tangrowth are popular enough that this is probably the best pick until the icons expire. However, Mosslax is competition when it comes out on March 18th, as is Smearguru on March 25th. If players want to claim these icons, then it is recommended to pay attention to the wave release schedule and claim them as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Meanwhile, the Switch 2 exclusive's core content is enough to give players 20-40 hours of gameplay. There's certainly enough to keep players entertained during these waves, but there are also events Popopia consider. The More Spores for Hoppip event is ongoing and will run until March 25th at 1:00 PM PT/4:00 PM ET. Contains Hoppip, Skiploom and Jumpluff. The second event for Popopia is also scheduled for April 29 to May 14, likely following a similar schedule. However one chooses to celebrate, whether in or out of the game, it's clear Popopia is a big win for the franchise, not just filler for the next generation of games. Pokemon winds and waves release in 2027 and Popopia is a fun way to pass the time until then.
