a week off for one piece

October was a pretty rough month for One Piece and Eiichiro Oda. The manga went on a sudden hiatus without warning due to the author's health, on top of Oda's other scheduled hiatuses. Another One Piece break is comingand this is happening very soon. One Piece Chapter 1166 will face a delay, but that's to be expected considering Oda has released 3 chapters in a row, so fans should be thankful. Instead of releasing on November 16th as previously planned, One Piece Chapter 1166 will be pushed back a week and will be released on November 23rd, 2025. A week break every 3 chapters has been the norm for One Piece for several years now. Oda's health problems are the main reason for One Piece's hiatus

From 2022 One Piece breaks have increased drastically. Before the Wano arc, even one break per month was an unusual occurrence. Since the end of Wano, fans have seen one break every 3 chapters and now it has become the norm. Fans are naturally interested in the reason for the breaks. While some of these are due to external factors such as vacationing in Japan, the main reason for the breaks is Oda's health. Oda, like most mangakas, is under enormous pressure and extremely overworked.

Work on One piece for nearly 3 decades is not easy and takes a physical toll on the creator. Oda has to meet deadlines and squeeze out more content every week, so the hiatus helps him a lot in that regard, and fans should be very understanding. Eiichiro Oda isn't getting any younger, so his job gets harder every year. Fans can only wish Oda good health to continue her manga and understand that breaks are very necessary for her own well-being.

Eiichiro Oda's One Piece will be on hiatus next week. One Piece Chapter 1166 will be released in two weeks. The official release date of One Piece Chapter 1166 is November 23, 2025. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
