One Piece: 6 Fights That Are Better in the Manga

Despite the insane popularity of the One Piece anime, there are fights adapted directly from the manga that cannot compare to their original depictions.

The animated adaptation of this arc has always been quite divisive in the community, so it will most likely benefit from a shorter duration and polished new animation, especially during several fights. But that inevitably left many fans wondering: What else One piece should the arches be redone? The following examples would surely improve the new improvements of Toei Animation.

1 Village Arc Syrup

The worst arc in the series could get some much needed redemption

Usopp's introduction to Arc Syrup Village.

  • Duration: Chapters 22 to 41 (Manga) Episodes 9 to 18 (Anime)

The Village Arc Syrup he's pretty subpar, both in the manga and the anime: His pacing is tedious, Kuro isn't that interesting of a villain, and Usopp seems annoying at first. On top of all that, the anime version has some slow and lackluster animation, especially during the climactic fight between Luffy and Kuro.

In fact, this arc has already been redesigned for East Blue episode TV special, but it was very brief and still carried many of the flaws from the original iteration. A new version with improved visuals and a more dynamic pace could do wonders for the reputation of the Syrup Village Arc and its main protagonist, Usopp.

2 Long Ring Long Land Arc

All of its padding could be removed and its cut parts added back

Luffy slows down Foxy with his own Noro Noro beam.

  • Duration: Chapters 303 to 321 (Manga) Episodes 207 to 219 (Anime)

The anime took it Long Ring Long Land Arca bizarre comedic arc that was already polarizing among manga readers and made worse by adding filler episodes that artificially lengthened the length of Davy Back Fight to an uncomfortable extent, and removed Admiral Aokiji's unexpected appearance at the very end, a shocking encounter that completely turned the arc on the head.

One Piece: Every Character Beaten By Shanks

Shanks is a powerful yonko. He defeated some powerful characters in One Piece.

That's a real shame because, while it may be outlandish, this arc has some really solid comedic scenes and a sudden change in mood at the end that isn't common for One piece. Solid reedit Long Ring Long Land Arc that stays truer to the manga could potentially be a lot more fun and a lot more satisfying to watch.

3 Marineford Arc

An intense arc with many action scenes that could be improved

Luffy in front of the 3 Admirals, Aokiji, Akainu and Kizaru.

  • Duration: Chapters 550 to 580 (Manga) Episodes 457 to 489 (Anime)

Animated version Marineford Arc he is far from bad and most viewers actually love him. However, this monumental war was slightly let down by the usual anime flaws such as occasional choppy animation, reused flashbacks, and slow pacing.

Toei Animation still managed to pull off a solid adaptation, but if the animators are going to keep this new tradition of re-editing previous arcs, they should give the Marineford Arc another chance. After all, this is a big and important arc that contains some of the most exciting battles One pieceand they could all end up looking and feeling better with the studio's more modern animation style.

4 Punk Hazard Arc

The arc that follows the Fish-Man Island Arc would also benefit from a new treatment

Luffy attacks Caesar Clown.

  • Duration: Chapters 654 to 699 (Manga) Episodes 579 to 625 (Anime)

Most One piece Fans agree that the anime experienced a significant drop in quality after the time skip, with the Fish-Man Island Arc being the first to be severely affected by tedious pacing, unnecessary filler, and more. So, since the first big arc, which is set after the time skip, is already getting a much-needed reissue, why not continue with the one that comes immediately after it?

The Punk Hazard Arc it has all the elements to be a legendary story. The location is unique, Caesar Clown is a memorable villain, Trafalgar Law is a lovable deuteragonist, and the plot even sets the stage for the looming Dressrosa Arc. If Toei Animation takes all the changes they're already applying to the Fish-Man Island Arc and applies them to the Punk Hazard Arc, it could see the quality boost that this arc always deserved.

5 Dressrosa Arc

The most infamous arc in anime may now get the remaster it desperately needs

Gear 4 Luffy attacks Doflamingo.

  • Duration: Chapters 700 to 801 (Manga) Episodes 629 to 746 (Anime)

There's no denying that Dressrosa Arc is the most famous of all One piece anime, to the point that many fans blame it as the sole reason they switched to the manga. It takes every single flaw that other similar arcs have had and multiplies them to a hundred. It's extremely long (even longer than the manga!), it's filled to the brim with intrusive recycled flashback sequences, and some of its fights are slow and uninteresting when they should be intense, emotional, and exciting.

One Piece: 5 Villains Who Redeemed Themselves

Not every villain in One Piece stayed evil. Here are five villains who became heroes in different ways.

Fans have dreamed of a shortened and/or remastered version of the Dressrosa Arc that would get rid of its glaring issues for years, and some of them even went ahead and remastered the anime arc themselves. However, an official re-edit from Toei Animation might be just what this arc needed. At the end of the day, the Dressrosa Arc has a riveting storyline that features one of the best villains in the entire series: Donquixote Doflamingo. So it would be great to see it edited into a more concise and exciting format.

6 The entire Cake Island Arc

The train barely left, so he should get another chance

Big Mama sings with her friends in Totto Land.

  • Duration: Chapters 825 to 902 (Manga) Episodes 783 to 877 (Anime)

Although not nearly as bad as Dressrosa Arc, the anime version The entire Cake Island Arc it still suffered from all the usual flaws one would expect from this show. This is unfortunate as most fans believe that Toei Animation upped their game with better visuals and smoother combat in the arc that came immediately after it, the Wano Country Arc.

It's pretty unfair because The Whole Cake Island Arc also tells the story of the straw pirates meeting one of the four emperors: Big Mom. Not to mention, it had a fascinating setting that resembled everything that came before it, and featured some amazing fights, with the clash between Luffy and Katakuri being the most memorable of the entire arc. At the end of the day, a remastered version of the Whole Cake Island Arc with the same animation quality as the Wano Country Arc has the potential to be one of the best things to come out of the whole world.
