This article contains spoilers from the One Piece series.
When it comes to the hardest tasks in the world One piece, become a pirate king is most certainly at the top. In history One piece world, Roger is the only known Pirate Kingwho earned this title for completing the circumnavigation of the entire world and conquering the Great Line, becoming a man of wealth, fame and power. Before Roger, Joy Boy was probably the only person strong enough to pull off this feat.
Currently, even the likes of Yonko were unable to perform this feat, but according to Oda, there is a marine who can find the One Piece and become a pirate king within one year. That's not an exaggeration from the author One piece. It just goes to show how powerful the Marines are, especially the ones at the top. As some fans might have guessed, a sailor who can find One piece it's in a year none other than Akainu. He is the current fleet admiral of the Navy and commands a tremendous the powers of Magu Magu no Mi.
Oda Reveals Akainu could be the Pirate King in a year
When it comes to the Navy, Oda makes it clear in his story that they are not to be underestimated. The navy is incredibly powerful and their admirals are strong enough to fight the likes of Yonko. However, the fleet admiral is the strongest of them all and they are truly Yonko level. The current Fleet Admiral of the Navy is none other than Akainuand fans know very well that he can compete with the likes of Luffy.
Luffy worries me the most because he will defeat the main villain right away if I don't trap him before he reaches the enemy. So when you create a main character in a manga, it's not a good idea to make him too powerful. For example, if Akainu became the main hero, he is so powerful that ONE PIECE would end within a year. — Eiichiro Oda
Oda himself confirmed Akainu's immense power when he stated that if he were the protagonist, in a year he will find One Piece. This means that a context needs to be attached to this statement. According to Oda, there is no need to overpower the main character. When Oda talks about Akainu finding One Piece in a year, he means the stream Akainu with his Yonko level powersgo out and lead the crew like the Straw Hats. In that case, most overpowered characters would be able to find One Piece in a year.
They are three navy admirals. Aoki, Kizaru and Akainu. It is said to be a military force of marines. — Nico Robin on the Three Sea Admirals, Long Ring Long Land Arc
Of course, that doesn't take away from Akainu's strength either. To find One pieceone needs to be strong enough to fight four emperors and Akainu is certainly strong enough to fight some of them.
Akainu is a Yonko level monster
It goes without saying right now Akainu is a Yonko level monster in One Piece. He should be on Luffy's power level, and that alone makes him one of the most powerful in the seas. It also makes sense given that he leads one of the most important factions in the entire series, just as Dragon leads the revolutionary army.
Garp would easily become a pirate king
Another Marine who he could easily become a pirate king if he wanted to, is Garp. The fans know it Garp is even stronger than Akainu and that he has Haki of the highest order. Garp was strong enough to rival Rocksand stood side by side with Roger. If Garp were a pirate, he would certainly have what it takes to become a Pirate King, and like Roger, he would do it quickly.
Listen, Kuzan! He who hesitates is lost! — Garp to Kuzan, Egghead Arc
Among all the marines, Garp is without a doubt the strongest of them alland Oda specifically gave him a lot of love, which is clearly visible. Unfortunately, Garp has never been interested in being a pirate and follows his own sense of justice. As such, only Luffy can truly go on to retrieve the Joy Boy treasure from Roger, and to do so he must overcome both Akainu and Garp.
