The One piece series is full of incredible Devil Fruit abilities that Oda has sprinkled throughout many arcs. While some Devil Fruits are insanely overpowered, others are pretty average. In the beginning One pieceThe Devil Fruits were rather weak, but over time, Oda reveals one powerful fruit after another and the most powerful devil fruit of all is Yami Yami no Mior dark devil fruit. The main reason why Oda refers to it as the strongest Devil Fruit is because of its ability to dominate all other Devil Fruits.
It is currently owned by none other than Blackbeard. While Blackbeard is the only confirmed user, Oda has already strongly hinted at a previous known user and it is none other than Davy D. Jones, Blackbeard's own ancestor from the Void Century.
Davy D. Jones was a legendary Void Century devil fruit user
Blackbeard, also known to many as Marshall D. Teach, is one of the most important characters in the overarching plot of One Piece. Now that the story is in the Final Saga, Blackbeard's importance only grows, especially with the latest Elbafian flashback revealing many truths about him and his legacy.
As the story makes clear, Blackbeard is the only person in the One Piece world who possesses not one, but two Devil Fruits. One of these Devil Fruits, which was also his first, is none other than Yami Yami no Mi. This Devil Fruit's darkness is overpowered and even has the power to nullify the abilities of other Devil Fruits. When Blackbeard fought Ace, Oda called this fruit the most powerful ability of all.
Blackbeard is officially the only known user of this fruit, but Oda made that clear in Elbaf its previous user was none other than Davy D. JonesBlackbeard's ancestor. Davy D. Jones lived during the Void Century and was certainly Joy Boy's great rival and enemy of Imo. Their dynamic would currently mirror that of Luffy and Blackbeard. Davy D. Jones possessing the fruit would also explain why Blackbeard wanted it so badly and more than that why the fruit eventually found him. The fruit is more special than it seems now, and Teach knows it.
With this ability, I am the strongest in the entire world, Ace! — Blackbeard Ace
Yami Yami no Mi is essential in the final saga of One Piece
Yami Yami no Mi is not only the strongest Logia Devil Fruit, but quite easily the strongest of all Devil Fruit abilities, and is essential for One Piece's final battle against Imu. Oda recently strongly hinted that Yami Yami no Mi along with Luffy's fruit, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, are both needed to overthrow the World Government. At least that's what Rocks D. Xebec thought, and he certainly had the knowledge passed down from his Void Century ancestor.
Its meaning in terms of defeating Imu is quite clear. This fruit can cancel all other devil fruit abilities, which means it should also be able to cancel Imu's ability. Currently, Imu's power is the strongest in all of One Piece as he can turn others into their slaves. In addition, Imu is also immortal, probably due to the ability of the Devil Fruit, and if the fruit's ability is canceled, then not only Imu, but all those who carry Covenants will be affected by Blackbeard's ability.
Allow Him to show you the sovereignty of God! — Imu, Elbaf Arch
An entire world government can be taken down in one fell swoop, making it the most dangerous power to ever exist. Even in a battle against Nike, this devil fruit will be deadly as it will simply prevent Luffy from accessing the power of Gear 5 – reducing him to his weakest state. This Devil Fruit is undoubtedly one of the most dangerous One Piece, if not the most powerful.
