Personality 6 could finally be nearing reveal, as suggested by some new forward-looking statements from Atlus officials that reflect their 2026 plans for the long-running JRPG series. While the trailers don't specifically mention Personality 6they do name-drop another title.
Every December, Japanese outlet 4Gamer interviews senior executives from some of the Far Eastern country's top game studios and asks them to reflect on the year ahead. Persona Developer Atlus regularly appears in these posts, offering vague hints about what he's currently working on.
Persona 6 mentioned by Atlus after years of silence
Atlus is unexpectedly breaking its years-long silence on Persona 6, but it's doing so in a way that offers more questions than answers.
Producer Atlus teases the announcement of several characters for 2026
4Gamer's roundup of 2025 interviews includes statements from several senior Atlus executives, including longtime Persona produced by Kazuhisa Wada. After acknowledging that next year will be the 30th anniversary of the JRPG franchise, the veteran offered a promise: “2026 should be the time when we can share news regarding future developments [Persona] series.” The exact phrase Wada used is “シリーズフェック” (shirīzu tenkai) which means more than one Personaa related initiative possibly planned for next year. While the wording wasn't specific enough to confirm whether he was referring to games, events, or other projects, one of his colleagues seemed to help narrow down the topic of at least one of those plans.
Atlus will share more about Persona 4 Revival in 2026
Looking ahead to the year ahead, producer Atsushi Nomura told 4Gamer that Atlus has “received a lot of support” for Persona 4 Revival following its announcement in June 2025 at the Xbox Games Showcase. He added that the studio is eager to share more details about the upcoming remake in 2026. Like Wada, Nomura acknowledged that next year is significant for the 30th anniversary. If Persona 6 is announced in 2026, September seems like an obvious choice
Five days before the series celebrates its 30th anniversary on September 20, Person 5 he will be ten years old. This makes September 2026 a highly symbolic month for Atlus, and a natural window for major announcements should the company decide to do anything next year. Even so, the Sega-owned studio might not decide on a full reveal right away. His typical approach suggests that a short teaser (similar to what Persona 4 Revival adopted in June 2025) would be a more likely route for the very first official information Personality 6 news. Especially, Person 5 was also first treated to a short trailer in November 2013, before receiving a longer trailer the following year.

This isn't the first time the Japanese studio has said something that could be interpreted as a hint to some Personality 6 news is on the horizon, although none have officially materialized yet. Last year, Atlus teased an exciting announcement for 2025, which ended up being a remaster Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. Mindless army. However, the difference between his previous year-end remarks and this new set of comments is that this new set explicitly acknowledges that 2026 is a big year for the Czech Republic. Persona series.

Of course, it's not like 2025 will be completely free Persona release and related developments – it's just that none of them focused on the much-anticipated sixth entry in the main series. Noted leaker NateTheHate said this in a recent positive update Personality 6 she wasn't in development hell in December 2025. At the time of writing, the game is believed to have been in development for four to six years, based on several Atlus job offers from July 2021 and some subsequent rumors.
