The shadow figure is back Classic World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 6, this time watching players progress through Ahn'Qiraj from the sidelines. This mysterious individual's continued association with the Void, the Old Gods, and other dark patterns adds further fuel to speculation that the Shadow Figure is none other than Xal'atath, the main antagonist World of Warcraft: The War Within.
During the first phase of the Season of Discovery, Classic World of Warcraft Fans met a mysterious Shadow Figure that helped them create the Void-Touched Armament – some of the best equipment available at this level. She reappeared in stages 2 and 3 to help players craft even more powerful equipment, although she was nowhere to be found in either of the first two stages of the ending.

However now it Classic World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 6 has arrived, Shadowy Figure has been spotted again. This means that unlike the previous stages, the Shadow character does not help World of Warcraft characters crafting items – instead, he is seen watching the player from the off-limits areas around the Ruin and Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. Given her investment in the Void, it's not particularly surprising to see her here, as it's the home of C'Thun, the first Old God fan meeting in World of Warcraft.

Although players cannot interact with the Shadow Figure directly, fans who use the Sign of the Void to imbue their weapon with a shadow cosmetic effect while in Ahn'Qiraj will receive a whisper from her: “Ah, the so-called 'Old Gods' … washed away. Boring and misguided as ever… but useful in its own way.” This whisper is quite similar to the private musings of Xal'atath – the priestly artifact weapon turned antagonist World of Warcraft: The War Within – lending even more credence to theories that she and the Shadow Figure are one and the same.

This enigmatic figure has sparked rampant speculation among gamers, and her latest appearance has only fueled those flames.
