Pokemon GO Replay Event Brings Back Gigantamax Starters

Niantic Reveals Replay: GO Bigger Limited Time Event Pokemon Go players in April, adding new event-specific rewards and bonuses while bringing back the fan-favorite Gigantamax Kanto starter. There are always new things to be found in it Pokemon Gobecause Niantic is constantly adding new limited-time events and other bonuses in addition to the typical seasonal content. The latest reveal brings some popular Kanto Pokemon through their G-Max forms later this month.

On April Fool's Day, Niantic finally brought Mimikya to the Pokemon Gothe 7th generation creature that fans have been waiting for for a long time. While some likely saw the tease as an April Fool's joke, Niantic confirmed that it wasn't a joke, as the Ghost type was added during the A Shockingly Good Time event. An encounter with Mimikyu at level 30 and 60 has also been added for those who managed to progress through the related Event Pass. Later this month, fans will once again have the chance to come face-to-face with some Kanto Gigantamax Pokémon.

A recent Pokemon GO leak suggests that a new game-changing virtual item with features like auto-catching could be released soon.

Pokemon GO Replay: GO Bigger Event Start Time

  • Saturday, April 25 from 2 to 5 p.m

In a new blog post, Niantic revealed the return of “Giants of the Kanto region” as part of the upcoming Replay: GO Bigger event, which starts for just a few hours on April 25th. Players will want to make sure they have plenty of Max Particles ready because Pokemon Go Power Spots will feature the Gigantamax forms of Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise and, the only non-rookie of the group, Gengar. In addition, players have a chance to discover their shiny variants as well.

During the Replay: GO Bigger event, Pokemon Go will also have several event bonuses active. Players will be able to hold more Max Particles with the collection limit increasing to 1,600 during the event. Power Spots will refresh more frequently and players can earn 8x more Max Particles along with 3 special shops per day. Finally, Niantic is increasing the remote raid daily limit from 10 to 20. There's also an Event Ticket for those looking to spend some real money, offering new rewards and research time bonuses.

Fans can look forward to more ahead of the Replay: GO Bigger event. To commemorate Earth Day, Pokemon Go is holding its annual Sustainability Week event on April 14th and will run until April 20th. The Galar Pokémon Silicobra along with its evolved form Sandaconda will appear during the event as the sand snake will appear more often in the wild. During the special event, players can also encounter rare spawns of the shiny variant of Toedscool and Galarian Corsola with pink sunglasses.

Sustainability Week and the previously revealed Replay: GO Bigger event are part of Niantic's bigger plan for April 2026, including the upcoming Community Day for Pokemon Go. This weekend, players can participate in the Tinkatink Community Day, when the Pokemon comes with a charged Gigaton Hammer attack.
