Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have one last event to close out 2025, as Walking Wake and Iron Leaves return as a five-star Tera Raid boss for the first time since February, ending a 10-month absence. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will have more than two weeks to face Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, though a few caveats remain in place.
As two of the rarest Paradox Pokémon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves only had a few opportunities for trainers to fight and catch them. The last of these availability windows for Walking Wake and Iron Leaves was in February 2025, just a week before Pokemon Day. Walking Wake is a Suicune-inspired prehistoric Water and Dragon dual-type monster, while Iron Leaves is a Robotic, Grass, and Psychic Pokémon that looks similar to Virizion. Like other Paradox Pokémon, Walking Wake is exclusive Pokemon Scarletwhile Iron Leaves can only be fought in Pokemon Violet. ErgoPokemon trainers who wish to add both to their Pokedex must trade for the ones they need.
Pokemon Legends: ZA DLC The new mega evolutions completely overlook one of the most deserving candidates and I'm completely heartbroken
Although Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC brought a lot of new Mega Evolutions for players to take advantage of, it still lacks a decent selection.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Details (December 2025)
Although the Dragapult Tera Raid event has ended, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will soon have one final event to participate in before 2025 draws to a close. According to Serebii.net, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will host the sixth running of the five-star Tera Raid Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, which will begin on Thursday, December 18 at 7:00 PM ET and end on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 6:59 PM ET. Pokemon trainers will have more than two weeks to battle and catch Walking Wake Pokemon Scarletand iron sheets inward Pokemon Violet. Walking Wake will be a Tera-Water boss, while Iron Leaves will be a Tera-Psychic. Since Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are both set to level 75, a full team of level 100 Pokemon that have a type advantage against either target should be safe bets in both respective battles.
Walking and iron leaves should offer tempting rewards
Although each Pokemon Paradox boss can be fought repeatedly, Pokemon players who already have Walking Wake or Iron Leaves in their save files will not be able to catch more. While this isn't the first iteration of this event, it will be the first since the Switch 2 pro update Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will be available in Tera Raid Dens. Since the performance Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has improved significantly since the Switch 2 update, trainers who have put off trying Tera Raid battles will have the perfect opportunity to test themselves against two of the rarest Paradox Pokemon available.
During the previous event in February 2025, which included Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, both Paradox Pokémon dropped some lucrative items when defeated or caught. Some of these prizes include Herb Mystica, which can be used to make four-star sandwiches, along with EXP candies and bottle caps, which can be used to power up various Pokémon that still need some training.
This could be the last chance to face these paradoxical Pokemon
Although Paradox Tera Raid Events v Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are periodic and recurring events, the same cannot be said for Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. The fact that these two Paradox Pokemon in particular took 10 months to respawn means that this upcoming five-star Tera Raid event may be one of the last chances, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have to catch them.
Additionally, with rumors of the next generation of Pokemon games surfacing on social media, the likelihood that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet events will be discontinued in the near future. As such, trainers looking to complete their Paldea Pokedex may not have too much time to ensure that Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are added.
