Pokemon Scarlet and Violet revealed the first 7-star Tera Raid in 4 months

Seven Star Tera Raids returns to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after a four-month hiatus, as trainers will soon have a chance to take on Hydreigon Unrivaled. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will only have a few days to battle Hydreigon Unrivaled in Tera Raid lairs scattered throughout Paldea.

Hydreigon In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Hydreigon, known as the Brutal Pokémon, first appeared in Pokemon black and white as a pseudo-legendary monster of the Unova region. Hydreigon evolves from Dein and Zweilouse and is usually considered a dual Dark and Dragon type creature. With three heads and access to a variety of elemental attacks, Hydreigon is notable for its versatility in competition Pokemon battles. While Fairy-type Pokemon like Sylveon and Tinkaton usually have an advantage against Hydreigon, that won't be the case in the upcoming Seven-Star Tera Raid battle.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hydreigon Tera Raid Details (November 2025)

Soon, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have a new 7-star Tera Raid battle for the first time since Kommo-o the Unrivaled appeared in Tera Raid lairs in July. According to Serebii.net, Hydreigon the Unrivaled will appear in Seven-Star Tera Raid lairs starting Thursday, November 6th at 7:00 PM ET and ending on Sunday, November 9th at 6:59 PM ET. Pokemon coaches who miss the first round will have another chance the following weekend, November 13-16 at the same start and finish times. Hydreigon will have the Poison type as its Tera type and will grant the most powerful mark to any Pokemon that defeats it. Statistically, Hydreigon is a mixed attacker with slightly higher special attack power and average defense. While Poison Pokemon are usually weak to Ground-type attacks, Hydreigon's ability, Levitate, makes it immune to moves like Earthquake.

However, Levitate can be effectively neutralized by moves like Smack Down and Skill Swap, but that's only part of what Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers can fight Hydreigon unmatched. Although Hydreigon the Unrivaled will have a newfound weakness to Psychic Pokémon attacks, it can counter them with Dark-type attacks like Crunch and Dark Pulse. Hydreigon the Unrivaled also has access to moves like Flamethrower, Earthquake, Surf, and Dragon Pulse to cover as many potential bases as possible. Ergo, given the versatility Hydreigon has, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers must wait for the Seven Star Tera Raid battle to begin before creating teams that can face Brutal Pokémon.
