Pokemon Winds and Waves Can Finally Destroy the Starter Trifecta (Non-Fighting Type)

Although Pokemon winds and waves were revealed earlier than usual for new ones Pokemon games, currently slated for release in 2027, is buzzing with excitement in the community after revealing the starter trio for Gen 10. Browt, Pombon and Gecqua have stolen the hearts of fans, although the Pomeranian-like Fire type can lead to how cute and guileless he looks, as he has already become the most searched for online. So far, very little is known about these three animals, but Pokemon winds and wavesNew details about the starter have recently surfaced on the official website, with a description of each Pokémon's Pokédex.

Since then, and even before, fans have speculated about what the possible final evolutions for each starter might be, what they might look like, what types of combos they might have, and so on. It is an interesting discourse because Pokemon winds and waves they may be ready for new type combos for their starters, or even an entirely new type, with theories saying sound may be added to the chart. However, there is a problem with the current triangle types in the series, where some types are simply required for a good trifecta to work. Fighting is one of them, but Gen 10 can finally say goodbye to the entry-level curse of Fighting from the last few games.

How pokemon winds and waves can break away from fighting type starters

The trifecta type concept is interesting because it means having three different types, each dealing more damage to one and taking more damage to the other. Grass, Fire, and Water do exactly that, with Grass dealing 2x Water damage and 0.5x Fire damage, Fire dealing 2x Grass damage and 0.5x Water damage, and Water dealing 2x Fire damage and 0.5x Grass damage. This works perfectly for starters, but things get complicated when something like this has to happen with secondary types as well, which is the case in every game since Gen 8. Pokemon winds and wavesStarters have a chance to do things differently and get secondary types that aren't tied to the type triangle.

Pokemon Trifectas Type Explained

There are currently several types of trifectas Pokemon games that don't feature the main starter types (grass, fire, and water) but either have been used in the past or feature combat. These are:

  • Psychic, Fighting, Dark

  • Fight, steel, fairy

  • Flying, fighting, ice

  • Rock, Flying, Fighting

  • Ice, earth, rock

  • Earth, steel, ice

These trifectas work because each type is strong against one and weak against another, with the “best” triangle being Rock, Flying, and Fighting because each type also resists one of the others. The problem, however, is that these Pokemon-type combos use combat four times out of six. Pokemon winds and wavesPombon as a fire/fighting monster would be a sin that the community wouldn't forgive so easily, especially with the Fire/fighting gen 3, 4 and 5 curse in a row. Sure, it's been 15 years since the last Fire/Fighting starter, but it might never be the right time.

But still, Fighting has been very important in the last few games, even outside of starter Fire-type Pokémon:

  • Pokemon Legends: Arceus – Grass/Fight, Fire/Spirit, Water/Dark
  • Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – Grass/Dark, Fire/Spirit, Water/Fight
  • Pokemon Legends: ZA (Mega Evolution counted) – Grass/Fairy, Fire/Fight, Water/Dragon

The final evolutions of Pokemon Winds and Waves Starter are already clear

However, based on their records and Pokedex suggestions, Gen 10 game starters may finally be breaking away from their reliance on Fighting. Browt could be an amazing grass/flying starter, and while not the first due to Rowlett and Dartrix, it would be the first final evolution for a starter with this type combination. Pombon is the perfect candidate for the first ever Fire/Fairy Pokémon due to its temperament and appearance. Finally, Pokemon winds and waves Gecqua fan art and possible evolutions depict him as a Water/Psychic hybrid due to his intelligence and “third eye” design. These types wouldn't actually form a trifecta, and the starters would be without Fights.

Even more interesting is the possibility of Gecqua actually becoming a Water/Ghost, and that's because Flying, Fairy, and Ghost have no interaction with each other, be it resistance, weakness, or immunity. In a way, it would be an inverted triangle that would make the concept deeper and more interesting than the same old type combinations in recent titles. We'll see how things continue to develop, but there's a good chance it will happen Pokemon winds and waves' setting will affect the three starters more than a gameplay element like the type table.

Interestingly, there are only seven Grass/Flying Pokemon in the series (Hoppip, Skiploom, Jumpluff, Tropius, Shaymin, Rowlett, Dartrix), three Water/Spirit Pokemon (Frillish, Jelicent, Basculegion), and no Fire/Fairy.
