It may seem too bizarre to believe, but Rainbow Six Siege crosses over with the hit anime Attack on Titan. Tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege and dark fantasy anime Attack on Titan they may not seem like they have much in common to fans, and the player base seems to have a seriously mixed reaction to the reveal.
Although Attack on TitanThe original manga ended in 2021 and the anime in 2023, the series had a big impact on fans. Attack on Titan they created an interesting world, and although the anime and manga wrapped up the story of most of the characters that fans came to know and love, the series didn't disappear from pop culture. Attack on Titan: Age, height and birthday of each main character
Attack On Titan is one of the most famous anime series of the last decade. Here are some basic details fans should know about the main characters.
Rainbow Six Siege and Attack on Titan Collide in Collab
Ubisoft's tactical shooter revealed Attack on Titan cooperation landing on Christmas Day. The crossover features two premium cosmetic packs that give Amaru a set based on Mikasa Ackerman, while Oryx receives a set based on the Armored Titan. The video trailer shows their operator outfits in action, with Amaru using her Garra Hook to rappel up and over walls, similar to how Mikasa used the omnidirectional mobility that the anime Titans' battle units were equipped with. Oryx, on the other hand, immediately breaks through a wall at the beginning of the video, similar to the original appearance of the Armored Titan in Attack on Titan franchise where she helped break down the walls surrounding the city.
Each of the two packs includes a headgear, uniform, weapon skin, operator card portrait, and universal weapon charm. Oryx will receive the Titanic Demolisher weapon skin for his T-5 SMG, while Amaru will receive the Trusted Woodgrain weapon skin for the G8A1. Each pack can be obtained individually for R2,160 credits or together at a slight discount for R4,080 credits. The release is out now, but players who aren't ready to buy at this point needn't worry as these are permanent packs in the store.
Rainbow Six Siege and Attack on Titan fans react
As one would expect, there was a lot of hype surrounding this rumored collaboration for quite some time beforehand. Some die-hard fans of both franchises are quite excited about the collaboration as it combines two of their favorite things, but others have been more critical of it. Some Rainbow Six Siege players complained about the loss of the game's core visual identity, a reflection of the era when it was more of a strict tactical shooter without numerous collaborations with other properties. Others complained about the characters chosen for the crossover, believing that other operators might be better suited, but most noted that Amaru and Oryx were likely chosen for their tools and fighting styles, rather than their looks.
To be fair, complaints from Rainbow Six Siege communities regarding weakening a game's visual identity or disrupting its realism are echoed in other gaming fandoms. Call of Duty gained much popularity for its wide range of cosmetics, including those that wildly changed the stylistic qualities of the game by introducing playable characters like Beavis and Butt-Head. Some have also complained about the frequent crossovers in recent history with games like Magic: The Gathering and even Fatal Fury: City of the Wolveswhich features real-life footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. Of course, other games have used crossovers as arguably some of their greatest strengths, such as Fortnite or Super Smash Bros. Unfortunately, there's no way to please everyone, and the trend doesn't seem to be slowing down.
