Rating of every single piece The Pirate Who Defeated Monkey D. Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy is one of the strongest characters that fans have seen One piece over the years. He is a powerful pirate who has gone from strength to strength and has currently reached Yonko status. Even though Luffy is almost invincible at the moment, that certainly doesn't mean he hasn't been defeated in the past.

In fact, many other powerful pirates met him on his pirate journey and actually defeated him in battle. Although these pirates are very rare and quite strange in their own ways, they sure did a number on the Straw Hat Pirate.

Mr. Crocodile

Crocodile he is one of the first pirates to actually defeat Luffy. The crocodile was the first real enemy that Luffy faced in the Grand Line and it's safe to say it lived up to expectations. Until then, it was easy for him to defeat all of Luffy's enemies. Crocodile broke tradition and left Luffy dead not once but twice. They first fought in the desert when Crocodile showed off his massive gulf skills to the Straw Hat pirate.

He ended up defeating Luffy effortlessly before the time allotted for the battle ran out. Later, Crocodile defeated Luffy again, this time by draining all the moisture from his body. Luffy survived thanks to luck and defeated him in the third fight. However, for two rounds in a row, Crocodile defeated Luffy again and again.

Bartholomew Kuma

In the arc of the Sabaody Archipelago, the straw pirates were utterly decimatedand Bartholomew Kuma was responsible for much of this. Fans know him as an incredibly powerful pirate who was actually strong enough to take out the Straw Hat's entire crew at the time. Kuma used the power of his Nikyu Nikyu no Mi to the straw hat department. Even though he tried to save them, it was clearly a defeat for the Straw Hats at his hands and something that traumatized them for a long time.

Big Mom's Furious Army

In the Whole Cake Island arc of One piecefans had to see Luffy loses to an army of powerful fighters. Big Mom's Furious Army was called into action after defeating Charlotte Cracker and showed Luffy no mercy. Clearly, this was by no means a fair battle. Luffy alone fought 10,000 piratesall of which had incredibly high rewards.

At the same time at this point Luffy couldn't fight them or defeat them alone because he was exhausted. But he still fought as hard as he could. However, he was eventually crushed by the army and locked in a book prison on Mont d'Or.

Big Mom

In the Whole Cake Island arc of One Piece, Luffy and Big Mom didn't really fightand all they had was a skirmish. This skirmish was enough for the Yonko to win. Luffy jumped at the Yonko in an attempt to engage her, and when he did, Big Mom effortlessly blocked his arm attacks and proceeded to overpower him.

Luffy lost all his gas and had to be carried by Sanji. It's certainly not a clear cut defeat for the Straw Hat Pirate, but it's certainly one of his lesser defeats. Luffy basically lost all power here. If Sanji hadn't been there, he would have died right there. Unfortunately, Luffy and Big Mom never had a proper battle and fans would absolutely enjoy this showdown in the series. Hopefully, if big mom is alive, these two may have another match later.

Kaido

The pirate who gave Luffy the worst defeat in One Piece, of course he is Kaido. The first time they fought in Kuri saw Luffy is totally outclassed and destroyed in battle. A single swing from Kaid was all it took to knock him out completely. After Luffy's many upgradesthey fought again on the roof of Onigashima and Luffy lost to him twice morewho was eliminated in both encounters.

Eventually, Luffy defeated Kaidobut this victory came only after he had learned from his many defeats. Kaido defeated Luffy the most times in One Piece yet. The first time he did it, he used Raimei Hakke to defeat him. Kaido used Raganarak to knock him out a second time. He was knocked off the roof of Onigashima for the third time and saved from the ocean by the Heart Pirates. In reality, Luffy then lost to Kaid again and this time he actually lost his life as well. However, after he fell, he basically gained more power, which he then used to defeat the Yonks.
