Summary
-
PC running spicy errors for breaking games, missing pre -order bonuses and no advertised cooperation with a split screen.
-
The worst launch of steam in franchise history: Peak 4 819 players, far below Gears 5 and tactics.
-
Low number of PC players (now up to 1,000) hurts the matching; PS5 edition, gaming pass and fatigue probably factor.
Gears of War: PC Recoloded PC is becoming a little nightmare for coalition and Xbox Game Studios. After starting, the game was hit by “mixed” reviews on Steam due to a number of errors for breaking games, missing pre -order bonuses and without cooperation with a split screen, although it was reportedly advertised.
It seems that these problems were enough to keep the players on, because Gears of War: Recoloded had the worst start day of any game in the franchise on Steam.
Gears of War: RecoDed's Steam Launch Numbers don't look good
On the opening day, Gears of War: Reloaded, could not even collect 5,000 players on Steam, according to Steamdb, it reached 4,819. This is significantly worse than two other franchise games that have been published on the platform in the past.
After its release in September 2019, Gears has reached 5 196 players, more than double the number of Recoloaded. A few months later, in April 2020, Gears started on Steam and culminated at 7,351 players on the day of release.

There are probably several reasons. Of course, Gears of War: Reloaded was launched on Xbox Game Pass and it is likely that a large percentage of players played there. Like Gears 5 and Gears tactics, this is not necessarily a reason for lower players.
The fact that the game was launched for the first time is probably a contributor to a lower number of Recoloded players. Until now, PlayStation players would have to play the PC version of the game if they wanted to repair their devices, but it is no longer the case with PS5. The tiredness of the series, since it is the third time when these games were released after their original launch and ultimate edition 2015, are also likely to play a role.
By the way, at the time of writing, the game has less than 1,000 players (921), which cannot be good for touches.
With the weekend just around the corner, there is a lot of time to get the game back, but for now it's a worrying sign.
