The Resident Evil Showcase largely rehashed information that fans already knew Resident Evil Requiembut it made some interesting revelations. For example, he showed zombies that retain characteristics of their former lives, such as a janitor who still cleans as a zombie and a chef who still cuts meat despite being undead. Resident Evil Requiem PS4 version possible
It looks like a PlayStation 4 version of the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem is potentially on the way.
All revealed at the Resident Evil Showcase
As previously revealed, Resident Evil Requiem will feature both Grace and Leon as playable characters, with Grace's segments being the more traditional survival-horror and Leon's the action-horror found in titles like Resident Evil 4. This was highlighted during the showcase where Leon was shooting zombies, crushing their heads with his shoe, killing them with his ax and taking their weapons, including a chainsaw. Grace will have to work with limited ammo and will have to decide whether to fight or flee from any given encounter, but she's not defenseless. He has a powerful large caliber revolver called the Requiem, which has rather destructive power. He will also be able to collect the blood of dead zombies and make weapons like a syringe that can literally explode zombies.
Grace's section in Resident Evil Requiem they definitely sound like they'll be more challenging than Leon's, but that's pretty much up to the player. There will be three difficulty settings: Story, which allows players to focus on the story and puzzles; Standard (Modern), which should effectively be considered “normal” difficulty on par with the others RE games; and Standard (Classic), making the Grace sections even more difficult. When playing on Standard (Classic), Grace will have limited save options, which is determined by the number of ink ribbons she finds in the game. This is an interesting throwback to a classic Resident Evil games and should add a nice challenge for those who want it.
What else was announced at the Resident Evil Showcase
Aside from giving fans the best look at combat, not much else was revealed at the Resident Evil Showcase. Capcom used it to highlight the Porsche collaboration (Leon's in-game car is a Porsche) as well as limited edition Hamilton watches. Grace and Leon will have their own watches in the game, and 2,000 will be produced and sold in real life.
It has also been confirmed that there will be concerts to celebrate Resident Evil30th anniversary in Japan, Europe and North America, new 1/6 scale protagonist figures to be had this fall, amiibo are on the way, previously revealed Requiem The Switch 2 Pro Controller is coming, and the game will be available on GeForce Now alongside previously revealed platforms.
The show ended with a joke about something called “Elpis”. The mystery of Elpis is linked to Leon as well as the death of Alyssa Ashcroft, Grace's mother. Resident Evil Requiem fans will have to wait until the game's February 27th release date to find out more.
