Rockstar Games has denied claims of its recent firing Grand Theft Auto 6 developers saying that the shots were due to leaks. The statement contradicts what GTA 6 the developers themselves claim.
While gamers are still eagerly awaiting the release Grand Theft Auto 6recently there has been some concern and controversy surrounding the game and its developer. A new rumor has hinted at it Grand Theft Auto 6 could be delayed again, and by the end of October 30 to 40 developers were fired from their positions at the company.
Grand Theft Auto 6 developer explains recent shootings
Previously, former Rockstar Games developers and their representatives claimed they were fired for being part of a union, attempting to unionize, and/or belonging to a union Discord group. However, Rockstar Games has now shared its own official statement with Bloomberg, saying that the decision has nothing to do with the union of its company members. Instead, a Rockstar Games representative said it found the selected individuals “distributing and discussing confidential information in a public forum,” which is against Rockstar Games policy. Given the past GTA 6 Leaks, Rockstar was probably trying to prevent further incidents.
While Rockstar has now added more details to its previous allegations of “gross misconduct” by the fired employees, the fired employees aren't taking the move lying down. On November 3 and 4, some of the former employees were seen protesting outside the Rockstar North building in Scotland. Another protest is planned for November 6, supported by the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain. Those former employees still stand by their allegations of union busting, and the IWGB said the protests are being held as a way to demand that the employees be rehired.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for these employees. Neither side has provided the public with solid evidence to support the disparate allegations, leaving some fans wondering which claim is correct. Although it seems unlikely that any protests will have a significant impact on the overall development or release date GTA 6it's not the first time in modern history that the Rockstar North studio has faced trouble at its gates. In October, Rockstar employees were harassed on their way to and from work by a content creator who wanted to know when the third GTA 6 the trailer starts.
