Grand Theft Auto 6 was hit with a second delay yesterday, and developer Rockstar updated the game's official site accordingly. Waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6 has continued to build hype over the years, making the upcoming installment a historic launch for the industry.
Before being pushed back GTA 6 was set to arrive on May 26, 2026. After the second trailer was revealed earlier this year, many fans were beaming with excitement. The second trailer offered a deeper look into the criminal lives of protagonists Jason and Lucia, but players will have to wait a few months longer to learn more about the Bonnie and Clyde-inspired duo. Now, GTA 6 is scheduled for fall, and while the updated site doesn't reveal any mind-blowing news, it does reconfirm some interesting details about the game.
Rockstar updates GTA 6 website, confirms new release date and console exclusive launch
- GTA 6The new release date is November 19, 2026.
-
The game will still only be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at launch.
New version GTA 6The web 's once again make it clear that the longest wait unfortunately awaits PC gamers. While PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users knew it GTA 6 will be available immediately, PC fans don't have a clear timeline for the port. While GTA 5 was originally released back in September 2013, the PC version didn't arrive until April 2015. If Rockstar is planning a similar timeline, then PC users who have been eagerly awaiting GTA 6 may have a grueling journey of waiting on the horizon, as it could be 2027 or 2028 before the game is ported.
While Rockstar adapted GTA 6's to reflect the new launch date, the rest of the website remains the same. Fans can scroll through the pages to find out more about Vice City, Jason and Lucia's lives, confirmed map locations, and the many supporting characters that help shape the story.
The news of the game's delay comes just a week after Rockstar fired back several times GTA 6 developers. Allegations of union busting and protests by employees affected by the layoffs have landed the company in hot water, but insider Jason Schreier says the delay has nothing to do with the recent layoffs. Too bad the wait GTA 6 has gotten even longer, but hopefully that means the game will be even stronger at launch.
