The Four Catastrophic Curses are the most powerful Special Grade Curses in the setting, as they are made up of collective fear and cursed energy that accumulates around very powerful concepts. Jogo was one of these curses and probably held the most offensive power out of them, showing him to be an incredibly dangerous threat in every way.

Gojo finally defeated his toughest opponent.
One of the central aspects of Gojo's entire character arc is the fact that he was always known to be the strongest, but it wasn't until he lost Toji Zenin that he truly distinguished himself with his strength. After being chased by the killer for days, Gojo was finally confronted in a terrifying battle that resulted in his defeat and the death of the person he and Geto had sworn to protect.

In this event, Kenjaku's ancient and masterfully thought out plan came to fruition beautifully, starting with the conquest of Gojo and terrorizing Tokyo as a whole. At the very beginning of the event, Gojo was hit by three catastrophic curses and Choso at once.
