Pokemon Legends: ZA was released in October and received its Mega Dimension DLC over two weeks ago. While the game still has a lot to offer with upcoming events and rewards, most fans are looking forward to the next big chapter in the series: Pokemon Gen 10. The Gen 10 games have been a long wait since Game Freak broke away from the usual three-year development cycle, meaning that the leaked Pokemon wind and wave it is said to be released between October and November 2026. So far, there have been leaks regarding Gen 10 and future projects, but there is one key reason why you shouldn't expect anything too big in 2026.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were arguably a turning point for the series, with many fans unhappy with the performance of the Gen 9 games, despite the titles being ambitious, huge in scope, and generating a lot of hype. Still, most Gen 9 features and the entire Pokedex were leaked before launch, made possible by the Nintendo Switch system being widely used for data mining. Nintendo Switch 2 is not the same for various reasons Pokemon Gen 10 leaks will mostly only happen through residual Teraleak data in 2026, if at all.
Why Nintendo Switch 2 Won't Allow Pokemon Leaks in 2026
-
Pokemon Pokopia and Pokemon Gen 10 will be a Switch 2 exclusive.
- Popopia is confirmed as a Switch 2 exclusive, and Gen 10 is said to be as such.
-
Escaped Pokemon legends Galar is likely to be a Switch 2 exclusive and launch sometime between 2027 and 2028.
-
The Nintendo Switch 2 has encryption keys that no one has been able to crack.
-
According to experts and insiders, this will take years, if at all possible.
-
Famous Pokemon leak aggregator Centro Leaks deemed the Switch 2 “unhackable” and stated that no game after Pokemon Legends: ZA they will have pre-launch data, stats, Pokedex records and such.
-
Notorious Pokemon dataminer Anubis (@Sibuna_Switch) believes that data mining on the Switch 2 is something that won't happen for years.

Rumor: Pokemon Gen 10 battle system leaked
A new Pokemon Generation 10 leak claims to reveal how the upcoming games' combat will work compared to other recent entries.
It's time to embrace the Gen 10 Pokemon starters and the full Pokedex will never leak
Pokemon Legends: ZA is the end of the era of Pokemon leaks
Pokemon Legends: ZA it may not get another expansion, but next to Gen 9, it was one of the most leaked games of the series. For example:
Now, apart from the remaining Teraleak leaks that have not yet been reported, there will be no new leaks for Pokemon Gen 10 in 2026. Even then the leaks won't be as massive as they have been so far, as Teraleak is more from early concepts of new games than actual data. This means that fans won't be able to know in advance which Pokemon will be in the games, what they will look like, what the starter evolution will be, and so on.
Pokemon Legends Galar Leaks May Get the Short End of the Stick
In the big Teraleak 2.0 last October Pokemon legends Galar was first mentioned in the official Game Freak documents, stating that it would take place in the ancient Galar before the first Poke Ball was made. They were in the files Pokemon legends Galar has leaked features and early concept images, possibly indicating that the game is now in the early stages of development Pokemon Legends: ZA is out and will eventually be released sometime between 2027 and 2028.
The Nintendo Switch 2 may be the final nail in the coffin for Pokemon leaks
That makes sense, but it also means the game is at a huge disadvantage compared to Gen 10, as its very existence won't be confirmed until a few reputable insiders show up or say something. Since no data mining is currently possible for the Switch 2, Pokemon legends Galar will remain a big question mark for a long time and may even have been completely scrapped without notice. Not only that, but every leak Pokemon The current Gen 10 may no longer be true as the early plans from Teraleak are from years ago and nothing is set in stone. This really looks like the end of reliability Pokemon it's been leaking for quite some time and it's time to accept it.
