The Naruto the world has seen the rise and fall of several powerful shinobi over the years. With each passing era, a new generation of shinobi grows up, and as has been the case for the vast majority of the story, the new generation tends to surpass the old. Naruto Uzumaki's generation was the pinnacle of absolute power and Naruto himself was known to be the strongest of them all. With the powers he gained at his peak, Naruto was unbeatable by the vast majority of characters, save for Shibai Otsutsuki.

Unfortunately, Naruto's reign as the strongest ended rather suddenlyand was finally sealed by Kawaki. Naruto remains incapacitated to this day and is much weaker than his former self. As such, space for the rise of the new strongest Boruto appeared and the character who is now arguably the strongest is none other than Naruto's own son, Boruto Uzumaki. Boruto has tremendous strength, and even though he hasn't yet reached the same height as his father, he is quite easily the new strongest in the Naruto world and will hold that title well into 2026.

Naruto Uzumaki went from being a child with a huge curse to being the strongest in all of history. He managed to achieve this by taming his greatest weaknesses and facing adversity with immense toughness. Fans have come to love Naruto for these qualities, and that's exactly what made him a phenomenal main character. Naruto's greatest strength was quite easily Kurama. These two were able to stand up to all the threats they faced, and while most fans would like to see this as Naruto's peak, the fact is that he became even stronger when he unlocked the power of Baryon Mode.

Boruto: Shinobi stronger than Naruto is already confirmed by Kishimoto
Naruto Uzumaki is one of the strongest characters in the Naruto and Boruto series. Kishimoto reveals a Shinobi even stronger than him.
In fact, his overall strength should even rival Ishiki's and maybe even surpass it. That means that once Boruto unlocks the Karma Stage 2 power, he should be able to compete with even Naruto in Baryon Modeand in terms of strength he will probably even surpass him. As crazy as this may sound to fans, it is true and in some ways very exciting for the future of the series.
Fans are hoping for Naruto's return to great power
Of course, Naruto Uzumaki was already outmatched by Borutobut fans also know that he will be back at some point in the future. Even though the chances of Naruto gaining superpowers in the Boruto series are not that great, fans still hope that Kishimoto and Ikemoto will do him justice sometime later.
Naruto getting a power-up is a givenbut of course, whether or not this power-up will rival Boruto's more remains to be seen. With Naruto being the Seventh Hokage of Konoha, fans can only hope that his return to power happens soon enough as it would be incredibly exciting for the story and also give fans what they've been wanting for a while now.
Unfortunately, Naruto's return doesn't seem to be imminent at this point, to say the least. In 2026, Naruto Uzumaki will not return properly to the manga. Perhaps in the following year, Naruto Uzumaki could finally return. But for now, fans shouldn't get their hopes up as there's a lot of content that needs to be resolved before the Seventh Hokage returns.
