Second LEGO Pokemon minifigure detailed in new 2-in-1 event leak hint

Pokemon trainer LEGO A minifigure may be in the works, according to a new report from a well-known leaker. What's more, the still unannounced minifigure may also get an oversized version from LEGO.

Originally announced in March 2025, LEGO's Pokemon The collaboration has produced only three sets so far: 72151 Eevee, 72152 Pikachu and Poke Ball, and its crown jewel in the form of 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. All three products, which were released in March 2026, arrived as larger brick models without minifigures. However, recent reports suggest that the Danish toymaker is currently working on several Pokemon minifigures, although the total number of 2026 sets that will include them remains unclear.

The first LEGO Pokemon minifigure has leaked online and it's adorable

One of a select few LEGO Pokemon minifigures that has yet to be officially announced is appearing online in the form of a leaked photo.

LEGO is reportedly working on an upgraded Pokemon trainer minifigure and more

According to a new report from Chief Wiggum leaking to the Brick Tap community, one of the upcoming minifigures will be based on Pokemon coach. LEGO is also said to be planning an Up-Scaled variant of the same figure for later in 2026. The model is said to be in development alongside the Up-Scaled Mrs. Claus, while this year's lineup of oversized minifigures may even include a Spider-Punk replica, according to the same source. The new leak doesn't specify a launch window, but with much of this year's LEGO Pokemon line-up expected to arrive in summer 2026, that timeframe seems likely for the trainer minifigure as well.

The expanded Pokemon trainer can include a regular-sized LEGO minifigure

While Chief Wiggum only mentioned the Up-Scaled version of the trainer figure, LEGO does not release such oversized models in isolation. Instead, the company usually bases its Up-Scaled designs on standard minifigures from other sets. If an Up-Scaled Pokémon Trainer is indeed in development, it is therefore likely that at least one more set featuring its regular counterpart will also be released later in 2026. That said, LEGO has recently combined its oversized character models with regular minifigures, as seen with sets like the 40921 Up-Scaled Blue Astronaut Minifigure and 40921 Up-Scaled LEGO649 Minifigure. This raises the possibility that the rumored Up-Scaled Pokémon Trainer, which may not be its official name, could launch as a similar two-in-one offering.

The Pokemon trainer model is the second minifigure believed to have leaked from the LEGO Pokemon 2026 line. The first is the Eevee minifigure, which will reportedly be included in the as-yet-unannounced 72154 Poke Ball set. Designed as a giant Poke Ball that opens to reveal a smaller scene inside, the purported set is priced at $259.99 and contains more than 2,200 pieces. The 72154 Poke Ball was previously rumored to contain several LEGO minifigures outside of Eevee, meaning that the newly leaked Pokemon Trainer minifigure could be part of the upcoming set.

Many of this year's Pokemon LEGO offerings are expected to launch with Smart Play support. The new toy platform centers on rechargeable cubes equipped with sensors, lights and speakers that can respond to compatible tagged surroundings. This part of the set is only expected to see a limited release, but LEGO has only announced its Smart Play platform in six countries so far: the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Germany and Australia. Assuming the next wave of LEGO Pokémon products is scheduled for August, its official announcement will likely arrive in June 2026 at the latest.
