We are a week after the start of Solid Delta Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater and the first reviews for the highly expected remake are here. It seems that the revival of the solid game Metal Gear Solid, the first on the timeline of the series, with those who have already had the opportunity to play, but does not seem to hit as hard as the original game.
DELTA: Snake Eater is currently sitting on a score of 86 on OpenCritic with eight and nine across the album, more or less, and a handful of perfect score sprinkled for a good measure. Gamespot, who gave the Remake 9/10, described it as a “safe but successful” reimagining classic PS2. Push Square, who granted the delta of the same score, reflects these sentiments and marvel at the ability of Konami to “feel” secret classic “around the world around the world around the world.
Great from Delta: Snake Eater is that it is a highly polished version of the original explains why, while its review score is high, it does not completely hit the noble score of the game on which it is based. Metal Gear Solid 3, which turned 20 last year, has a metacritic score of 91, so five points higher than a remake if settled on 86.
Since we got our first view of the Delta for the first time, it has been clear that remake will remain faithful to the original. This makes a lot of sense given how well loved ones are MGS 3. It is clear that the remaining faithful was the right step based on Delta's score. However, when you maintain this faithful remake while you are going to pack in a large score, it will always be a slightly lack of original.
As for how Delta accumulates against the rest of the big hitters 2025, it was a huge year for games with noble scores, so with 86 he will have to settle for a place outside this year's TOP 20.
No so lucky for Delta: Snake Eater, but because the remake sticks hard to the source material, it has never really been on the cards. Konami is likely to be a score over the moon with their score and Metal Gear fans will almost certainly make love to what and virtuous with the remake. It also looks like the perfect starting point for the new fans of the series and maybe the beginning of every solid game Metal Gear, which gets a remake. I think it is a big plan if the delta is well received and so far so well on this front.
