On his first trip through Fury Green – Metroid Prime 4'with first dungeon – you will probably come across a door that is locked Fire Blockera device that unlocks only with a High temperature weapon. Behind this door is one of the most interesting puzzles in the game, mostly because it requires players to unlock all three elemental weapons before it can be solved. In this guide, we'll show you how to solve the initial Sacred Flame puzzle you'll encounter when you first remove the Fire Blocker, as well as the larger puzzle that requires Metroid Prime 4's Ice Shot and Thunder Shot.

Solution to the Sacred Flame Ceremony puzzle – Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
First, unlock Fire Shot:
To get past the Fire Blocker on the door near Base Camp, you must first go through the Fire Shot unlock process. This requires you to complete the main paths Fury Green and Volt Forge, then collect the Fire Chip from the part of the Flare Pool that is accessible. Once you've unlocked the high temperature weapon, you can go back to the door and remove the Fire Blocker.
Fire Shot Ring & Brazier Puzzle:
Once you open the flame-locked door, you step inside Sacred Flame Ceremony chamber. If you search the room, you'll immediately notice a purple glow, which is the sign you'll need to use Samus' new psychic powers.
If you look in the center of the large ring area, you'll see a pressure plate that you need to stand on to start the puzzle. When the plate is fully compressed, you will be able to lock onto the base of the ring and move it along the ring tracks. The goal is to move the ring in front of each of the three pointed objects placed around the track. These items open once the ring is in place to reveal the pan beneath the shell.
Check the ground to see exactly how to move the ring as the tracks are not a straight line. You will need to move the ring not only back and forth, but also up and down to ensure it is on a track that will allow the ring to be positioned correctly.
Once the ring is positioned directly in front of the fire pit, fire a Fire Shot beam into the ring directly into the charcoal.
Once you light all three pans, a large door will open to reveal a large statue of Lamorn. This statue hints at a larger puzzle in the room. Facing the statue you will see two more doors in the chamber, one on the left and one on the right. The door on the right is locked with a Thunder Blocker, and leads to Transmission rods puzzle. The door on the left is locked with an ice blocker, and leads to Fountain of Tranquility puzzle. Solving these two puzzles will also solve the larger Sacred Flame puzzle.
How to solve the Fountain of Tranquility puzzle:
Since you unlock the Ice Missile first, you'll likely be the first to enter the Fountain of Tranquility chamber. When you enter the chamber, you will see two fountains – although only one will be active. The water should appear to be raising a platform that you will need to jump onto later. If you look at the fountain on the left with the scanner, you will see that there is a Psychic Node at the base.
Before collecting the Psychic Node, shoot an ice missile beam into the water to freeze it. Next, pull out a Psychic Node and place it at the base of the fountain on the right. This will cause the fountain to activate and push the platform significantly higher than the fountain to the left. Quickly freeze the platform in place, then jump from the left platform to the right platform and then to the top of the strange platform that is held in the middle of the room.
At the top of this platform you will find a Widening the shot. This will solve the Fountain of Tranquility puzzle. A white orb will appear near the large statue of Lamorn in the main chamber, connecting with the flame ball.
How to solve the Rods of Transference puzzle:
After unlocking the Thunder Shot weapon, return to the Sacred Flame Chamber to complete the Rods of Transference puzzle as well as the main puzzle.
From the main chamber, turn right and take the Thunder Blocker from the chamber door. Inside the chamber, you'll see a strangely shaped structure in the middle of the room with three poles that you can rotate using your psychic abilities. Rods have two pivot points, one allowing you to rotate the pointer towards the tip of the central object and the other allowing you to pull the entire rod down.
The goal is to pull all three rods down as far as they will go and then rotate the pointed rods toward the center, specifically the tip of the object. Once that's done, you'll want to fire a few Thunder Shot blasts at the tip of the central object.
Keep shooting until a short cutscene begins, revealing that you've solved the puzzle. Again you will be rewarded and Widening the shot.
Sacred Flame Ceremonial Reward:
Now that you've solved all three basic puzzles, return to the large Lamorn statute to claim your final reward: Energy tank. This will emerge from the ground at the statue's feet, ending this puzzle.
