Sonic X Shadow Generations is out now and fans will be immersed in a new adventure with Shadow as well as revisiting the classics in Sonic Generations. However, being a semi-remake, quite a few things have changed from the original, including certain dialogues and actions the characters perform. For example, Knuckles no longer embarrasses Classic Sonic, and Dr Robotnik doesn't mention whether he'll end up as crazy as Eggman.
Some of these changes outraged certain fans who preferred the original game's dialogue, and there is currently a lot of anger surrounding the character of Amy Rose. There have been complaints for some time now from some Sonic fans that Sonic Team is slowly eroding Amy's love for Sonic, which is probably the trait she is most known for, and that Sonic X Shadow Generations is also to blame.
Sonic X Shadow Generations has Amy fans fighting for dialogue and bio changes
One of the biggest points of contention surrounding Amy in the game is her updated character bios, which mention how she is often referred to as Sonic's “girlfriend”. Sonic X Shadow Generations removed this section entirely, instead claiming that Sonic “inspires her to be the best she can be,” and some fans say that's Sega “telling her not to be #expressive about her love.”

Shadow the Hedgehog has been through a lot and Sonic X Shadow Generations has finally put him through.
You also have fans pointing out other games with Amy about how her personality should be. For example, a Twitter user named MationMiss points to Amy's characterization in The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog – a visual novel released last April – as an example of how Amy can be her own character while still maintaining her love for Sonic.
Then you have the other side of the argument that claims that Amy's personality change was good for her character, such as Reddit user ChocolateRough5103, who is glad that Sega “toned down her obsessive behavior.” There are even some fans pointing to dialogue in Sonic X Shadow Generations this allows Amy to have little moments with Sonic without it becoming overbearing.
It's an argument that's been raging for a few days now, and it doesn't look like it's going to die down anytime soon. Any play with Amy will make her argue again, but hey, at least she's not mad that Rogue was covered up a bit more. That's a win in my eyes.
Sonic X Shadow Generations is a double pack of the remastered version of the 2011 Sonic Generations title, along with a brand new campaign featuring Shadow the Hedgehog and both 2D and 3D levels.
