Stardew Valley Creator Treatorape reportedly indicated that he would be ready to revive Hytale, but there will be a catch – he wants to know what was wrong first.
This comes after Hytale – MMO, who could compete with Minecraft – canceled. It is not entirely clear why it happened, but one developer accused the team leadership.
Fans Hytale eager to find new developers
As Gamesradar+saw, one of the defores of the #SaveHytale campaign shared a picture of what seems to be an exchange with the real name Eric Barone on their discord server. Here, the fan is trying to persuade Baron to take over the development of Hytale, given how many fans eagerly awaited it.
Barone said he could “perhaps” see the advantage of accepting the challenge, but not without further details. “I would have to hear more about what the plan is, why it failed at first (behind the scenes), etc.,” he quoted on Discord.
The developer Hymixel Studios was vague about what went wrong with the development of Hytale, but offered something as an explanation in the announcement of the abolition of the game.
“Our technical ambitions grew more complicated and even after a big restart of the game engine, the team found that Hytale was still not as far as necessary,” he reads the statement. “We focused on reducing the scope, adjusting time axis and finding new angles to move forward. But each of these options would compromise what caused Hytale to be the first.
Meanwhile, the future of Hytale looks quite bleak. Hymixel Studios was acquired by Riot Games in 2020, but there is no indication that the company is planning to revive Hytale under another team. Yet his own Hytale IP, so any attempt to get it out of the country would pass it.
