However, this can also have some disadvantages, as the amount itself can be difficult to navigate. This new tool from Steam could help alleviate some of the issues.
Steam Labs introduces a personal calendar for game recommendations
Steam has now revealed the Personal Calendar feature, which is currently a Steam Labs experiment. This calendar is special because it only features game releases that Steam thinks players would be interested in. The platform looks at the games a player has spent the most time on and makes recommendations based on that data, rather than trying to incorporate every game and demo a player has ever played, and the system updates its data daily to ensure relevant recommendations. The calendar is designed to not only show upcoming game releases, but also those that have been launched recently, which could help players avoid missing out on any game.
While the Steam Personal Calendar is subject to change as it is currently a Steam Labs experiment, there are a few details about the current version that users may want to know. The calendar only lists weekdays, Monday through Friday, as Steam points out that very few games launch on the weekend, so including those days would largely be a waste of space. The calendar is also designed to show games that are on players' Steam wishlists as well, even if they don't necessarily match the games they play regularly, so they won't miss out on anything they've previously flagged an interest in. There is also a difference in how upcoming and recently released games are displayed. Instead of being on a daily calendar like upcoming releases, games that have already been released are divided into two sections: one for games released in the last month and one for games released within the past week. Users can further customize the calendar and change how it is displayed using customization tools and filters.
